Michael Jordan didn’t become the greatest because he was destined to. He became so because he worked hard for it. With strict workout routines, and diet plans, MJ was all about wholesome growth that elevated his game on the court. These are being adopted by more and more athletes in the present. However, the Chicago Bulls too had some weaknesses. As a famous comedian duo and MJ’s old neighbors sat for a conversation, one of Jordan’s obsessions was revealed.
Jordan’s weakness turned out to be some delicious snacks prepared by famous Hollywood star Damon Wayans Sr.. In the 90s, the Wayans had their next-door neighbor Jordan visiting their house way too often for one thing. “Michael Jordan used to come over and eat all my snacks. That’s how good our snacks were,” Wayans Jr. joked as he recalled how Jordan loved munching on the snacks that his father prepared.
However, both father and son expressed how happy the family was to have Jordan as their neighbor. Wayans Sr. recounted how his friends frequently visited him to get a glimpse of Jordan. However, he didn’t let anyone bother MJ. “One thing I really put my foot down for was don’t bother him,” Wayans Sr. said.

Despite being a huge fan of Jordan, Wayans Sr. visited Jordan’s house only once, and that too upon invitation. That was because he didn’t wish to disturb the Chicago Bulls legend. “He moved in for the whole summer [next door] and I only went over to the house once and that’s because he invited me in,” he noted.

It does cause a lot of curiosity about what snacks Wayans Sr. prepared and the recipe that brought Jordan to visit them so often. As it turns out, MJ was quite strict about his diet and health.

Michael Jordan kept a tight rein on his diet!
The Chicago Bulls legend believed that for an athlete, maintaining a good routine off the court is highly important to show an energetic performance on the court. And that also included his diet. A ban on junk food was quite obvious.
“My nutrition is very important as well. You got to eat three good meals a day. I used to start off with a great breakfast, pancakes, cereal, something of that nature, go to practice, and then workout after practice, gonna have a great meal after practice, and then finish up on a great meal in the evening,” he said about his diet in a conversation with MVP.com. He would eat his favorite meal which is steak and potato on his game days.
Working out was an important part of Michael Jordan‘s routine off the court. MJ also mentioned how aerobic exercises, stretching, and workouts that focus on strength were some of the important parts of his routine. He won 6 NBA titles with the Bulls!
