That one rival of Michael Jordan knows better than to underestimate a team that needs only one good game. He is Phoenix Suns legend Eddie A. Johnson. And he has some valid advice for Draymond Green and the Dubs. A lot of fans are concerned for the 10th-seeded Golden State Warriors as the Houston Rockets need only one win to seize their spot to move ahead. At a presser, Green was asked about it. But he callously declared, “I don’t give a damn about the Rockets.”

Eddie Johnson recommended the opposite on X. “You better. They are 1 game behind you and MJ oops I mean Jalen Green is exploding right before your very eyes.” Green made some other comments at the press conference, from “I don’t think we have great habits,”  to “We’re a very quiet team.” But everyone is focused on his dismissive comments about Houston. His teammate, Stephen Curry admitted he’s keeping an eye on the standings to hold their play-in spot.

It’s Houston’s sudden emerging star, Jalen Green who’s giving Johnson MJ vibes. The soon-to-be dad had a performance surge, leading the team on an eight-game winning streak. He scored an astounding 41 points along with 4 assists and rebounds each in 33 minutes in the 147-119 win against Utah. In contrast, it might be trouble for the Warriors if his run continues. Johnson can relate. After all, he knows the consequences of underestimating a 40+ scorer.

Someone who could drop 40 on a bad night was Michael Jordan. He was comfortable in his scoring prowess that he bet 6MOY Eddie Johnsons that he’d score 40 points against Suns’ Dan Majeri. Dan was a fierce defender who was touted as one of the few people who could slow down His Airness. But Jordan was an elite scorer who took that talk personally. In the 1993 NBA Finals, the Bulls legend averaged 41 points against the Suns. Other than his third championship, he won $200 off Johnson too.

Johnson doesn’t sound like he’s putting his money on the Warriors with Dray’s attitude. The Dubs lost 110-114 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday dropping their slate to 36-34 with back-to-back losses.  They’re still in the last place for the final play-in spot which is in jeopardy with the advancing Rockets.

While it’s not a bad thing for Green to keep his calm, Dub Nation is hoping they come out of this inconsistent slump. Dray is aware the team played poorly this weekend and made a lot of mistakes. He made 12 points on Sunday in contrast to Jalen Green’s 41-point outing. That’s not someone to be slept on. Is Johnson right that Draymond should fear the Rockets and their superstar shooting guard?
