Scottie Pippen referred to Michael Jordan as his best teammate? This wasn’t on the radar this year, but Pippen backtracking on his own previous comments just to give credit to Jordan was probably the best thing. The two undeniably had a great bond on the court. The 6 championship titles that the Chicago Bulls boast wouldn’t have been possible without these two teaming up together. In The Last Dance series, it is even shown that the two used to play golf together which means an off-court bonding. But is it true?
Scottie Pippen, who recently sat for an interview on the Patrick Bet-David podcast, was asked about how many dinners and golfing sessions he had with only Jordan. To the host’s sheer surprise, Pippen revealed that he had never played golf with Jordan. And that left the host baffled as he claimed to have seen in The Last Dance that they played golf together.
An even more surprising detail was that the two never went for even as much as a friendly dinner, other than the usually formal ones like those held by organizations. “I mean we may have like a pregame meal or something like that but we would, it’s always a big party of people,” Pippen shared.

While this might be the case, that didn’t stop Pippen from bestowing him with a new honor. “I mean, I can’t knock him and say he was a bad teammate. I can’t knock him and say he wasn’t my favorite. I mean we had a lot of success, so I would say he probably fit both of those categories,” Pippen said.

DEERFIELD, IL – OCTOBER 5: Chicago Bulls basketball stars Michael Jordan (R) and Scottie Pippen (L) laugh at a question about their newly aquired teammate, Dennis Rodman, before their first team meeting 05 October in Deerfield, Ill. Usually, Jordan shares a great friendship with anyone he has played golf with. So, this makes sense when Pippen says that they weren’t close off the court. While speaking of their fractured relationship, the 6x NBA champ made an even more upsetting declaration.

Scottie Pippen believes Michael Jordan is a “difficult” person
The whole world knows that the two have had problems, which gained more attention when Scottie Pippen expressed his displeasure with The Last Dance. When asked whether the two would ever be able to reconnect, Pippen explained why he doesn’t think so.
“I just think Michael is a very difficult person to deal with,” Pippen said. He added, “Don’t sit there and try to procrastinate or stretch it that the relationship is not where it was or not what it used to be, and it’s never going to be the same. So why try and make something out of nothing? Or try to make something that was never there?”
While going through Pippen’s past interviews, he is often seen explaining that the two only had a relationship on the court. The only time they saw each other was during practices. “I guess the last three championships that we won, we trained together at his house, but other than that, we didn’t really put a lot of time in away from basketball. Most of our time was spent whether we were working out or on the practice floor,” the Chicago Bulls legend once said.
