Dads are for scraped knees and Goddads are for the cool concert perks. That’s something that can be described as what Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem mean to the former’s daughter, Kaavia. The little diva is thriving in dance and her parents have been there every step of the way. The understated hypeman is her godfather, Udonis Haslem. While Wade and his family moved from Miami to California, Haslem still maintains a residence there. That didn’t deter UD40 from making the journey for Kaavia’s recital.

D-Wade shared proof of Uncle UD setting the godfather bar high on his Instagram Stories. “Goddad pulled up for the recital,” he wrote on a picture of Kaavia’s two special guys flanking her. We suspect those flowers Wade is holding are from Haslem, too. UD reshared the same post on his page.

Kaavia is very serious about dance, evident from the numerous posts of her schooling her mom, Gabrielle Union, on her dance skills. So her squad’s presence at her recital is a big deal.

Wade had shared a glimpse of her preparation earlier too. The “Recital Day” post indicated that along with him and Gab, others were present. One of them was Kaavia’s aunt and Union’s sister, Tracy Union, as well as Andrell McCants, who was also at D-Wade’s Hall of fame induction last year. Wade later shared Kaavia in full glam, center-stage, holding her pose before the performance began.

The latest update gave some insight into the recital and it’s nothing superficial. Choreographed by Laurel Penn, the theme of the performance appears to be “Dancing through history’s icons.” Showcasing history through dance is no small feat by these pint-sized dancers. Haslem is probably beaming like the proud goddad he is as Kaavia makes the most of the dancer’s life.

Kaavia makes Udonis Haslem’s day special too

Last week was about D-Wade and her grandfathers on Father’s Day. Before that, Kaavia made up the highlight of Haslem’s day. The Miami Heat icon turned 44 on June 9. Among his family and friends celebrating his birthday, Kaavia stood out.

On Kaavia’s own personal Instagram page (operated by her parents), she wished him, “Unbreakable and unshakable! Happy Birthday Goddad.” What blew UD’s loved ones out of the water was the photo dump of herself and Haslem since Kaavia was born in 2018, taking baby Kaav to his alma mater to a Gators game, and Kaavia’s recent fifth birthday princess party.

Dad Dwyane should feel threatened. UD40 is coming for the title of Kaav’s special guy.
