Matt Barnes isn’t the one to hold his thoughts back. After jointly dropping 39 points for Crespi Carmelite High School to forge ahead, the Barnes twins and their squad guided by coach Dereck Fisher won the championship at Section 7. However, the comments section found more interest in dissecting the relationship between Barnes and his ex-wife’s husband Fisher. The retired NBA player classically clapped back at one of the followers to shut down the chatter.

A post by Court side film read, “Matt Barnes twins Carter and Isaiah secured the championship at Section 7 🏆 @carterbarnes35 @zaybarnes30 @matt_barnes9 @section7az” As one of the fans seemed to aim at how Barnes may have unwillingly accepted the situations with Fisher, the champ wrote, “You crazy as hell…if I didn’t okay it none of this would be goin on. Let’s be serious.” 

Nearly nine years ago, Barnes’ relationship with his former teammate Fisher appeared strained because of an issue. The two reportedly had an argument because Barnes wasn’t fond of Fisher’s involvement with the kids before his divorce was finalized with ex Gloria Govan.

In August of 2023, the Crespi Carmelite hired Fisher as the coach for their basketball team. And later, the Barnes twins also joined the same High School. Despite years-old feuding, the two seem to be at a good point. Both Barnes and Govan try to be present for their kids. The two were last spotted together at Isaiah and Carter’s graduation ceremony. Barnes is currently in a relationship with Anansa Sims and the family looks to be thriving.

The Barnes Twins are stealing the thunder

As Barnes’ comment suggests, it can be assumed that this peace was made for the kids. Whatever the reason is, the Barnes twins are certainly treading well with their parents’ support and making a change.

Isaiah and Carter Barnes’ are winning hearts with their performance at Section 7. Carter, a point guard, averaged 7.3 points, 1.2 assists and 1.2 rebounds, as a freshman on Varsity Team. Isaiah, a shooting guard, averaged 8.5 points, 1.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds as a freshman last year.

Numerous of Barnes’ friends commented on the post to congratulate the twins. While NBA legend Reggie Miller wrote, “BALLERS,” NFL star Deion Sanders wrote, “NEPHEWS!!!!!!!!!!” Barnes’ sister Danielle Barnes also commented on the post and wrote, “Blessings.”

Before Fisher, the twins were also trained and influenced by Kobe Bryant. The Los Angeles Lakers legend guided the twins to find their passion for the sport. “Every time we are in court together, we hold each other accountable,” Carter says. The two are looking to continue together as a ‘package deal’ and are sure offering proud moments for Barnes as well as Fisher.
