Former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade hasn’t stepped onto an NBA court for a few years now. After having devoted 16 years to the NBA, one might think that Wade might want to lay off basketball for some time. However, that has not been the case. After acquiring an ownership stake in the Utah Jazz two years ago, Wade is looking to make another investment by entering the WNBA. Prior to the announcement made by Wade regarding the same, a WNBA star had some demands for The Flash.
The $170 million worth Wade has made some major decisions in order to boost his net worth.

A few hours ago, former NBA star Dwyane Wade took to Twitter to announce that he was buying an ownership stake in the Chicago Sky. The announcement comes only a month after it was reported that Wade had visited Sky?s facility to meet and have a word with the members of the team.
A few days prior to Wade?s announcement, Chicago Sky?s player Kahleah Copper sat down for an interview with Andrew Cohen, a reporter, and writer for ?Front Office Sports?. The 3? WNBA All-Star spent a considerable amount of time talking about the facilities used by the female players for their practice sessions.
Back in May, the Chicago Sky announced that they were searching for a new practice facility, looking to bid adieu to the one they have been using for almost 12 years. While Cooper has expressed her approval of the new facility, she hopes to see some action take place over the next few days.
This week, Chicago Sky star @kahleahcopper spoke to @andrew_cohen0 about Dwyane Wade's involvement with the franchise — and its future:

Responding to the news that Dwyane Wade might be looking to invest in the Sky, Copper said that it would be ?a big step? as it would help in generating many opportunities for the team. Being a former NBA Player, Wade has a good understanding of what the WNBA lacks in comparison to the NBA, according to Cooper.

?For him to even have the interest in wanting to invest in us, I think that?s big time,? said Copper during the interview. Meanwhile, Wade seems excited about the investment.

Dwyane?Wade is feeling “incredible”
?It?s an incredible feeling being on this side of history… There are amazing things happening in the WNBA. It?s official! This is for the home team?literally,? said Wade in his announcement tweet. The tweet was accompanied by a 24-second video featuring various Chicago players and their highlights. Soon after the news broke, Wade?s wife also took to Instagram to share her three-worded response.
The 13x NBA All-Star?s investment in his hometown team will only go through after the WNBA Board of Governors provides its formal approval. After the Ricketts group invested in the Chicago Sky back in June, their valuation reached a total of $85 million, the second highest for a WNBA Team. Currently, neither Wade?s percentage stake nor the price for which he acquired the stake has been divulged.
