If the position of Los Angeles Lakers coach were vacant, many would argue that Mark Jackson would be the ideal choice. As a former Golden State Warriors coach, Jackson brings not only coaching experience but also insights gained from his time as an NBA analyst. Though Mark has parted ways with ESPN.
Yet, he continues to share his views on the NBA through his podcast “Come Talk 2 Me”, where he freely criticizes referees and shares his perspectives on the basketball league without any restrictions. This makes him the perfect candidate to join the Los Angeles Lakers as a coach.
Not only do fans believe Mark would be a great fit, but Mark himself has expressed interest in joining the team. In a recent interview session uploaded on his official podcast channel on YouTube, he shared his insights. A glimpse of the interview was then uploaded with the title “NIGHT MODE: MARK & BLUU WEIGH IN ON THE CELTICS LOSS + MAYWEATHER-HANEY BEEF |S1 EP30“.

During the same interview, Mark was asked, “You need to coach more, you need to put more, put your hat on.” Right after this, Mark put on his fictional coaching hat and acted out a scenario.

Coaching Lakers a la Mark Jackson’s way
In this hypothetical scenario, Mark is at the helm with the Lakers. “Tell them they have to be honest with you. It’s going to take 48 minutes of basketball. We have to play 48 minutes of our brand of basketball. You have to be better than it starts with me. I made some mistakes, I owe them, I apologize. I’m committed to putting a game plan together for 48 minutes,” said Mark, motivating the players.

But the motivation doesn’t end there. He added, “I expect you to do the same exact thing. You’ve proven AD you can outplay Joker, LeBron you’ve proven that you can be the best player on the floor… whoever’s on the floor, let’s stay true to the purple and gold, let’s handle our business and look forward to game four.”
As a former Knicks player, Mark Jackson has an edge over others to be considered as a coach in the coming years. However, his outspoken behavior makes him the least favorite on some lists. Now, the question remains: Will the NBA really consider him for the post of NBA coach in the coming years? Comment down below!
