There’s no respite for Marcus Jordan any time soon. At least not since the bodycam footage dropped. In the wee hours of Tuesday, Michael Jordan’s younger son was arrested under wild circumstances. His mugshot and the charges he’s facing have already thrown the Internet into a tizzy. Now Florida law enforcement released the responding officers’ body cam footage that showed how this bizarre situation unfolded.

Among a lot of things in the over-hour-long footage, Marcus’ ride to the Orange County DUI Center in the back of the squad car has been… something.

The footage was captured on Maitland Police Department officers’ body cameras at 1:14 AM. It confirms the early reports that Jordan had veered his Lamborghini onto train tracks. What stood out immediately was how quickly Marcus namedrops his famous father.

Bro, I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home. And I made a wrong turn. OK?” he says. The latter stance he maintains throughout, even when he’s in the back of the squad car.

Marcus is talkative throughout the ride, which lasts about 20 minutes. At one point, the cop remarks that people are usually scared while sitting in the back of a cop car. Marcus replies, “Yeah, but I’m scared of the fact that you’re breaking a law.” Marcus then gets more provocative, saying, “It’s cool for y’all to break the law, right?”

Every time the officer says no, Marcus responds with a sarcastic “huh” and doubles down, “So why are you f–king speeding it?” He accuses the cop of driving over 35 and speeding. The body cam footage shows at the start that Marcus was actually speeding away from a traffic stop before he got stuck in the tracks.

Marcus Jordan’s wild ride

Marcus Jordan was arrested after a night out in a Florida strip club. He was booked on suspicion of DUI, dr*g possession, and resisting arrest. As per the body cam footage, there was no violent incident. Marcus was argumentative and stubborn through most of it. At one point, he stuck his leg out to keep the officers from closing the car door.

Marcus repeatedly insisted he was famous and brought up Michael Jordan. He threatened the cops with consequences in the morning during the ride. He was also singing along to the radio.

Speeding is not the only accusation Marcus made, either. He implied that the officers were racist. The officers repeatedly told him they were not talking to him because he was turning everything into an accusation.

Around the time this body cam footage was released, Marcus was seen leaving the Orange County, Florida DUI facility after posting a $4,000 bail on February 4. He was wearing a pair of Jordan Brand sneakers and kept the hood of his black sweats on while avoiding the reporters.
