This message consists of only three words but accurately captures the sentiments of college basketball fans everywhere. It spoke volumes about Wade’s immense pride in his former team and their incredible accomplishments. Wade holds a special place in the hearts of the Marquette fans.

While he was ineligible to play in his freshman year, Wade burst onto the scene in his sophomore season, helping the Golden Eagles finish with their best record in almost a decade. But there was more to come. Next year, he led Marquette to its first Final Four appearance since they won the National Championship in 1977. They haven’t reached that stage since. His contributions to the program led to Marquette retiring his jersey, where an exception was made as the University only retired jerseys of graduates, which Wade wasn’t.

Marquette’s road to the Sweet Sixteen is nothing short of inspiring for college athletes by the magic of their head coach, Shaka Smart. The Golden Eagles have performed beyond expectations. They entered the tournament as low seeds but consistently defeated their opponents with tenacity, determination, and unwavering team spirit.
