Cheers were louder than ever as the Indiana Pacers clinched a spectacular playoff series win over the Milwaukee Bucks. This is the first series win for the Pacers in a decade. However, on the other side, for the Milwaukee Bucks, things took a sour turn. Matters escalated further when Patrick Beverley engaged in a heated argument with a Pacers fan. But that wasn’t it for Beverley on the night as he displayed unfriendly behavior towards ESPN reporter Malinda Adams, refusing to answer her questions. Naturally, the video of the incident began to circulate on social media. Soon, Adam’s ESPN colleague, Kendrick Perkins, swiftly came to her defense.

Taking to his X handle, the retired NBA player gave Beverley an earful for his misbehavior. Perkins wrote, “Come on @patbev21 you’re more playa than this my guy! This ain’t it G.” What is the reason for the refusal? It was because the female reporter didn’t subscribe to his podcast.

“Did you subscribe to my pod?…You can’t interview me then. No disrespect,” Beverley can be seen saying to Malinda in the clip. Later, he even demanded her to leave. Apart from Kendrick Perkins, other ESPN employees such as Brian Windhorst also jumped in to trash Beverley for his antics. Mentioning how Adams is one of the most respected people at ESPN, Windhorst wrote, “Bev, you’re going to have to make a couple apologies for stuff tonight.”

This wasn’t expected from a veteran player like Beverley. Even Perkins, in his comment, also advised the player to show better sportsmanship. It was indeed a tough game for the Bucks but that doesn’t explain Beverley’s weird antics. Charles Barkley even demanded a suspension for the player’s misbehavior earlier on the court.

Patrick Beverley mistakenly hits a lady

During the game, Patrick got involved in a verbal argument with an Indiana Pacers fan. Things quickly turned ugly when he threw the ball at him. While it didn’t hit the target, the ball hit a lady sitting behind the fan on the courtside. Luckily, he wasn’t ejected from the game. However, he didn’t appear after that too.

Speaking of his misbehavior on court, Barkley shared, “He hit a lady on the head. He’s gonna get suspended. Man, he hit that lady in the head. It don’t matter if he was tryna hit, you can’t hit no lady.” While admitting his own previous mistakes on the court, the Philadelphia 76ers legend claimed that this gesture was not acceptable. He further added, “Listen, I have done stupid stuff and I got criticized. That just wrong, he gonna get suspended for that.”

Beverley scored 6 points in the game. Damian Lillard, who just recovered from a right Achilles tendon strain, didn’t perform as dominantly as fans expected and ended the night with 28 points. The Milwaukee Bucks‘ desperate efforts to turn the game around made it tough for the Pacers. However, it wasn’t enough for the Bucks to secure a win. The Pacers will now face the New York Knicks in the Conference Semis.
