Allen Iverson has been a mentor-like figure for many. The long list also includes NBA icons Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. “For young kids growing up, we idolized the fact that he did challenge the conventional norms, he wasn’t like everyone else,” Wade said about Iverson during the former’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony. As for LeBron James, he idolized Iverson as a kid as well. “He represented what black kids were all about,” James said about Iverson in 2017. And it seems the camaraderie between Iverson, Wade, and James is still the same.

‘The Answer’ uploaded a picture on Instagram, reminiscing the old memories they shared together. The image depicted Iverson in deep thought with Wade looking like he was mid-sentence and LeBron James seemed to be laughing over something. “Love 4 Life @dwyanewade @kingjames,” Iverson captioned the post. It goes back to the 2006 All-Star Game in Houston. That game proved to be special for all three involved.

After seven consecutive All-Star appearances and 2 MVP awards (2001,2005) for the East, this was the last time AI represented the Conference. On the other hand, this marked Dwyane Wade’s first start in the All-Star Game. He would be named an All-Star starter for the next eight years alongside his buddy, LeBron.

Speaking of the King, he won his first All-Star Game MVP award in Houston. He has won that trophy two more times since. Apart from these milestones, Wade and James put the team on their backs and led the East to a 122-120 victory.

LeBron had a team-high 29 points along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists, while Wade scored 20 points on a stunning 82% shooting from the field. Iverson contributed with 15 points but he was poor from the field, making just 5 of his 14 shots. After sharing the court at the 2004 Olympics and the 2005 All-Star Game, this was the last time these three icons of the game played on the same team.

Allen Iverson’s special bond with LeBron & Wade

His latest post, which is one among many over the years, reminds his 2017 IG post where he calls LeBron his little brother. “Lil bro tha man!!!” wrote Iverson, sharing photographs with LeBron, who could be around 32 years old at the time. In another instance from 2018 during a Cavs-76ers game, AI did not hesitate to shower his praises on James saying, “My man for life!!! Thank u for what you’ve done for our ppl, our culture & being the greatest role model to our kids!!!,” on his IG handle.

His love for ‘Flash‘ on the other hand doesn’t require many examples considering that he inducted Wade into the Hall of Fame while wearing the ‘Wade 3’ imprinted outfit. Taking an extra leap, he posted on his Instagram handle, “Oh what a night! I will cherish this moment forever… Well Deserved! Love you to life lil bro! Congrats! 2023 Hall of Famer @dwyanewade,” calling ‘Father Prime’ also his little brother.

This loyalty is also reciprocated by the legends as Wade chose his No.3 for his jersey following the trails of AI. For King James, ESPN reported him saying, “You could never question [Iverson’s] heart, his will to want to win. A true warrior,” while putting Iverson after Michael Jordan among his childhood idols. So it makes sense for the 76ers icon to consistently show his affection for the other legends
