King James has made yet another historic record. The series of jaw dropping records for the veteran began during his first game in the NBA as a rookie at the age of 18. This was the record of most points by a rookie player. He has continued to awe the crowd by  proving time and again why he’s The Chosen One. At the age of 40, the Lakers star continues to raise the bar. He is making it nearly impossible for others to reach what he has built. Not just Lakers—even Magic Johnson too is over the moon.

He is the league’s all-time scoring leader. James is also the only player to hold the all-time record for combined regular season and playoff points. And well, he’s not slowing down just yet!  

Now, with his son on the roster as well, the veteran player made another record. LeBron James is the first player to have 50,000 combined points in the regular season and playoffs. Joining the millions of fans congratulating the star player, Johnson took to X and wrote, “Congratulations to the King LeBron James for becoming the only player in NBA history to score 50,000 regular season and playoff points!”

This historic moment was made with a 3-pointer during the Los Angeles Lakers‘ matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, replacing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 44,149. The Lakers capped the matchup with a sweet 136-115 win to celebrate the moment. The 21 NBA All-Star had 34 points.

Playing for the Lakers, he broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387 points. And last year, he became the first NBA player to surpass 40,000 career points. This 22nd record tying season With Vince Carter. And James will look forward to breaking more records. And the fans are all up for it.

Luka Doncic reacts to LeBron James’ record 

James’ now-iconic three-pointer came off an assist from Lakers star Luka Dončić. The Lakers have been riding a high wave ever since Dončić was traded to the team and joined forces with James. For the first time in four years, the team has extended its winning streak to seven games with the latest victory. A fan wrote, “History made! 👑🔥 LeBron keeps setting the bar higher. What a legend!” Talk about a more historic moment—and Dončić is taking it all in.

“It’s amazing, watching him do this stuff at this age. It’s just unbelievable, that 50K points. I can’t even explain how insane that is. He might get to 70K. You never know,” Dončić said. After all, the Lakers now sit second in the Western Conference with a record of 39-21. The Slovenian star recorded 30 points, 15 assists, and eight rebounds for the Lakers. James’ son, Bronny James, also saw some action, scoring two points.

This is certainly not James’ last. He is inches close in on the record for total regular-season games played. He is currently third on the list and just a few games away from passing Abdul-Jabbar (1,560) who holds the second place. Just a few games with him being healthy, King James might surpass Robert Parish’s record of 1,611 games!
