Who would’ve imagined Serena Williams would be the hot topic of discussion during Super Bowl weekend this year? But thanks to her brief yet blockbuster cameo that made her talk of the town. For less than five seconds, the 43-year-old tennis legend set social media on fire with a crypt-walk during the closing moments of Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show performance of Not Like Us. A blink-and-you-miss-it moment, yet just enough to spark a wave of reactions. But that wasn’t the only event where Williams made headlines.

The former tennis star was also front and center at Michael Rubin’s exclusive Super Bowl Bash. Among some other standout guests were names like La La Anthony and Gabrielle Union Wade. Wondering how the experience was? Well, Gab has herself opened up about it during her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

Gabrielle Union Wade first revealed she had no idea about Serena Williams’s aforementioned cameo despite being with her a day before.

“I love a surprise. Thank God she didn’t say anything… It was awesome… Our whole suite and the suite next to us, we went up… There was a suite next to us that did not enjoy it in the same way that we had had enjoyed it,” Gab said, leaving the kind of party the stars had to the imagination of the fans.

Union later shared images of her night at the Super Bowl bash on social media as she linked up with Serena Williams, La La Anthony, and others at a star-studded Super Bowl bash. And while Dwyane Wade wasn’t by Gab’s side at the bash, he still made sure to send some love her way. The Miami Heat icon reacted with a heart emoji to his wife’s pictures featuring not just the Bring It On star but also Serena Williams, La La Anthony, and more.

The event and the recent interview from Gab with Andy Cohen clarified the kind of bond she shares with Williams. And it seems the said mutual respect might be carried forward by the next generation of the two stars.

Gabrielle Union Wade’s daughter’s tribute post for Alexis Olympia Ohanian

Imagine scrolling through Kaavia’s Instagram and suddenly seeing a tribute to none other than Serena Williams’ daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.! Talk about a star-studded toddler friendship.

The post, part of Kaavia’s Woman Crush Wednesday series, introduced Olympia in the sweetest way. “Meet Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. (@olympiaohanian)—the pint-sized powerhouse taking the world by storm,” the caption read.

The post went on to celebrate Olympia’s incredible lineage, calling out her famous parents—tennis legend Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian—before reminding everyone that she’s been stealing hearts since September 1, 2017.

It’s no surprise these two support each other. As mentioned earlier, their moms are not just friends—they uplift one another. Gabrielle Union Wade has always cheered for Serena, even showing up courtside at her matches. In a Glamour interview, Union opened up about Black maternal health, citing Serena’s scary childbirth experience as an example.
