Kendrick Perkins has faith in ‘Ant-Man’. This nickname which is quite popular among the Wolves fans was given to Anthony Edwards by his father. In his father’s absence, Edwards was raised by his mother and grandmother. However, he lost both of them when he was 14 years old. Dealing with the pain while at the same time maintaining focus on his passion wasn’t easy for the NBA player. Now, back to the present, Edwards is making waves in the basketball world. He ensured he made the two most important people in his life proud.

Touched by Edwards’ past struggles and his dedication to the game, Kendrick Perkins believes that the Wolves’ star is strong and capable of handling the challenge thrown at him by the Mavericks. Urging the listeners to take a look at Edwards’ determination to deal with his pain and dominate, Perkins said, “I just don’t see anybody like matching that intensity and Anthony Edwards just got a old soul and I always keep I hate to like bring up anybody past.”

Edwards was born to Chrisha Yvette Edwards. He was also quite close to his grandmother, Shirley

Anthony Edwards paid a heartwarming tribute to his mother and grandmother

Shirley and Yvette were the biggest support systems of his life. Both often attended Edward’s games. Even when the NBA player was more into football, his mother and grandmother cheered for him. But he lost both to cancer. In an interview with ESPN, Anthony shared that it was hard for him to trust people after he lost them.

Edwards was seen sitting between portrait paintings of his mother and grandmother as he waited to be drafted into the league. “As you can see my grandmother’s right here and my mother’s right here. The shirt, with the collaboration I had, I got my grandmother and my mother’s name on my shirt so they’re with me at all times,” pointing to their painting, Edwards said to SEC Network.
