LeBron James Will Return “Home” After 6 Years if Lakers Fail to Fulfill His Wishes, 39YO NBA Veteran Predicts

King James’s unexpected visit to Cleveland has opened a lot of eyes as NBA insiders are hinting something huge that is about to happen in the off-season. LeBron James was seated courtside with his wife Savannah for game 4 between the Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Boston Celtics yesterday. After this sudden live attendance at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, a former NBA star who joined Gilbert Arenas’ show, decided to give the Los Angeles Lakers a reality check. Anyhow, he also has a solution for the Lakers to avoid it. 

LeBron James’s run with the Cleveland Cavaliers is an emotional one for the fans. He had two separate phases there and brought home an iconic championship in the second run. Now, fans are rooting for a third and final phase, which former NBA star Rashad McCants believes is a possibility. 

Former Wolves veteran McCants shared, assuming LeBron’s perspective, “I’m going to where the cameras at. Cleveland’s playing, let’s go to the Cleveland game. Now, this is a clear sign to LA. ‘You don’t give me what I want, you know where the hell I’m going…I need JJ[Redick] and Bronny[James]’.” Insider reports have revealed that the Lakers have JJ Redick as one of the options for their head coaching vacancy.  

Now McCants believes the Lakers should also draft Bronny James, to hold the King from leaving the team. He continued James’s perspective with Arena, “You’re gonna commit to the 17th pick and I’m going to sign this 2-year deal and we’re gonna make this sh*t go. If you DO NOT give me what I want, I will go back home and end my career there.“

 According to McCants, James is indirectly threatening the LA Lakers; considering he has a $54.1 million player option for the 2024 season, allowing him some moment. But as per recent reports, LeBron and Savannah were visiting Northeast Ohio and decided to catch up on the game. Nonetheless, as King James’ free agency possibility lingers, options stay right by.

Why would the Cleveland Cavaliers be the second-best option for James after the Lakers?  

The 2024 NBA draft pick will be something to look out for this year. The Atlanta Hawks won the draft lottery to get the first pick. Down the order, we have the Lakers, who have the 17th pick. With Bronny James entering the NBA draft, many teams would likely compete to pick the 19-year-old. However, insiders have revealed that the Lakers would mostly draft Bronny because of LeBron James’s desire. 

In case the Lakers are not interested in Bronny James, the Cleveland Cavaliers have the 20th pick in the draft. LeBron James has openly shown his interest in playing alongside his son in the NBA before he retires. This would be the perfect chance for him to do so. If the Lakers don’t draft Bronny as the 17th pick, McCants believes James will go to the Cavaliers, who might draft the 19-year-old as the 20th pick.
