LeBron Was Not Sad About Kobe Bryant’s Death, Ex-Lakers Star Allegedly Exposed Ugly Reality to Baby Mama

Another day, another explosive set of revelations from Royce Reed. When she stopped by Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast, you knew it was going to get funky. After she posted the receipts about her drama with Dwight Howard on social media, she had more to spill on the show. But no one, not even the NFL legend, expected Howard’s former teammates, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, to catch a stray. And in unexpected fashion, too.

Reed was narrating what might have been three simultaneous incidents about Howard to Newton, and somewhere, the sense came in: “He told us about LeBron.” Record scratch, freeze frame.

It took Newton 15 seconds to realize and ask where King James came into the conversation. As Royce explained, during COVID-19, Howard had his exes and his kids live with him. Howard, Bron, and the Lakers had won the 2020 championship months after Kobe Bryant’s passing in January 2020. Dwight told Reed about James’ immediate reaction to Bryant’s death.

“He said that LeBron was not really crying or sad about Kobe passing. He said on the plane he had no emotion and he was just like… chilling… like everybody on the plane is upset and LeBron was just straight face. He’s like the only time he got emotional was when he walked off the plane,” Reed revealed on the podcast.

Reed told this to her then-boyfriend, who found it very odd and said that she and her son needed to leave Howard’s home. Like Newton and the rest of us, she too wondered why Howard told her this “LeBron story.” She had no specific thoughts about James but someone else did.

Royce Reed was uncomfortable with Dwight Howard’s LeBron story

Dwight Howard’s eldest of five kids, Braylon, grew up with Reed. They spent the lockdown in Howard’s Georgia residence (which might be the one that’s on the market now). At this point, the former NBA dancer has nothing to do with the Lakers. However, as she revealed to Newton, Howard allegedly had some motives for telling her LeBron’s story.

“It was also my son’s favorite player. He always talked about LeBron as his hero. He wanted his sneakers,” Reed told Newton. She proceeded to reveal her boyfriend then said Howard was attempting to manipulate her and Braylon. For what exactly is not clear but Howard has used Kobe against someone before. But she says Howard wanted Braylon to believe James was a cold person.

Lebron James had passed Kobe Bryant for third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list the day before the devastating helicopter crash that ki-led Bryant and his daughter Gigi with seven others. James and Bryant had spoken on the phone moments before the crash. He wrote a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram in the aftermath. Dwight Howard also confessed that they heard the news on the plane and he slipped into the bathroom to cry it out.

Reed also admitted this story and other incidents made living with Howard under one roof very uncomfortable. She and Braylon would eventually leave, and the estrangement between Howard and his eldest son would also grow.
