The James family is taking a huge load of pressure at the moment. While LeBron James is heading to his final Olympics in Paris, Bronny James is trying to make an impact in the NBA Summer League, and we have the youngest of all, Bryce James, who has conceded his second loss against a former NBA veteran’s son. In Nike’s EYBL, Bryce represents his dad’s team, Strive for Greatness, aka SFG, which has made some noise on social media. However, when they faced the AAU’s no.1 team, Bryce and Co. couldn’t get over the line.
The 17-year-old Bryce was efficient in his game against the Nightrydas Elite today. However, former Chicago Bulls veteran and 2008 Olympics Gold Medalist Carlos Boozer’s 16-year-old son, Cameron Boozer, stole the spotlight. In the game against SFG in Peach Jam today, Cameron Boozer scored 20 points which helped the Nightrydas Elite to comfortably win, 79-61.
Bryce, on the other hand, had 12 points, which included some tough layups and floaters. Interestingly, this was not the first time Bryce and Cameron faced each other.

The Nightrydas and SFG played a game on May 18, where Cameron defeated Bryce for the first time. In this game, both Cameron and Bryce scored 21 points each. Boozer’s son shot 3-3 from the three-point line and also got a win. Well, things have repeated once again. Anyhow, the internet was appreciative of both these youngsters. It’s safe to say that two have a bright future.
Bryce has a lot of time left to improve. He is a talented youngster who is still in high school. He will play college basketball before he gets a chance to enter the NBA. But Bronny is yet to impress the basketball world in the Summer League.
Bronny has the most to prove in the James family, despite Bryce’s defeat
What’s your perspective on:
Is Bronny James living up to the hype, or is he struggling under his father's shadow?
Have an interesting take?
He has played three games for the Lakers now and has not shown out yet. Bronny is considered a good three-point shooter. That was one of his biggest advantages. However, he has not made a single three-pointer yet in his first three games. He is shooting 6/26 from the field and 0/12 from the three-point line, which is concerning.
There are three months left for the season to start. 19-year-old Bronny has a lot to improve in this short span. This is the first season he will be playing with his father, and could be the last too. LeBron James does not have a lot of time left in the NBA. Let’s hope that Bronny makes the best use of his dad’s time in the league.
Bronny is open to playing in the G-League as well to hone his skills. But the aim will obviously be to earn minutes on the famous purple and gold roster.
