It’s been nine years since one of the best 3-point shooters ever retired from the league. He made 2973 threes during his career. This at the time gave him the record for the most three-pointers ever made by a player. The record stood still until 2021 when it was broken by Stephen Curry.

Despite winning a championship with the Miami Heat and Lebron James, though, he didn’t hold back when asked about his take on the GOAT debate. This candid response from Jesus Shuttlesworth was not what people expected.

In an interview from four years ago, during Dan Patrick’s show, former Boston Celtics player Ray Allen was asked a question that is usually difficult for most people to answer. But Allen didn’t feel it was such a tough choice when asked if LeBron could be the GOAT.

Allen was asked if there was anything that LeBron could achieve for him to consider him the greatest of all time. This made Sonic’s legend say that he has played against Michael Jordan and Lebron James, and for him, MJ is the greatest player to ever do it.

This was an unexpected response, considering both LeBron and Allen played together. Dan Patrick pushed further and asked if he considers LeBron to be the best all-around player ever. This made Allen reply that it was a tough choice and that he couldn’t say it.

He further added that the only weakness in Jordan’s game was his passing, while LeBron is one of the best ever at passing.

There’s always been a debate over who is the best player ever. But Ray Allen is not the only player to chime in on this.

James vs. Jordan: Who is really the GOAT?

While it’s not a wise idea to comment on this while one of them is still playing in the NBA, many players have given their take on this.

Rather than looking at everyone, we can just look at players who were teammates with either Lebron or Jordan. Few have mentioned in public that they consider LeBron greater than Jordan. This includes Tristan Thompson, Kendrick Perkins, J.R. Smith and Scottie Pippen.

A few noteworthy players who picked Jordan over LeBron are Dennis Rodman, Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving and Udonis Haslem. Dwyane Wade once himself mentioned in an interview that it’s hard to have the GOAT debate while Lebron is still playing in the league.
