A few days ago it appeared that Larsa and Scottie Pippen may not be on the best of terms. This was after their son Justin’s high school graduation ceremony where both appeared to have snubbed each other on social media. But if social media activity is any indication of the relationship between them, then things might have taken a positive turn.

The youngest child of the Pippen family, Sophia lived with Larsa in Miami but decided to move to California at the start of high school to be closer to her dad. The 15-year-old shared an adorable moment with her dad on Instagram with a single gray heart emoji. Surprising most observers, Larsa put a sweet red heart under the post’s comment section.

This is after Larsa and Scottie apparently steered clear of each other at their Justin’s high school graduation, which neither parent nor sibling skipped.

In April, Justin Pippen committed to play for the Michigan Wolverines. After his graduation from Sierra Canyon High School this week, his parents and siblings shared several pictures from the occasion, but Larsa and Scottie did not infringe on each other’s space. Larsa shared clips of Justin in his hat and cape going on stage to receive his diploma and shared several Instagram stories, but none featured Scottie Pippen.

Similarly, Scottie also posted pictures with the new graduate and his other children. On his Instagram, Scottie Pippen captioned the picture, “Proud dad moment! Congrats son!” But here, Larsa was notably absent from the photos shared by the six-time NBA champion. The ex-couple have largely stayed away from each other and moved on happily, but Larsa has expressed regret with how Pippen’s family distanced themselves from her after their split.

Speaking to Lisa Hochstein in 2023, she revealed, “When I went through my divorce, I never in a million years imagined losing my ex’s whole family. I always assumed it would be cordial, and we would talk on holidays or birthdays. But that’s not the case.”

After being married for almost two decades, the couple first separated in 2016. There was an attempt at reconciliation in 2018,  but the marriage ended with a divorce three years later.

Yet despite their differences during their marriage and a divorce, they have worked out a co-parenting strategy that seems to work.

Scottie and Larsa finalized their divorce in 2021. Larsa got half of the 6x NBA champion’s retirement fund and both battled over their youngest child’s custody. Most thought the rift was deeper when Larsa dated Marcus Jordan while Scottie Pippen was feuding with Michael Jordan. over how he was portrayed in the ‘Last Dance’ documentary. However, it was a non-factor and the two worked together for their children.

Speaking on the  Amy and T.J. Podcast, a couple of months ago, Larsa said, “Honestly, my ex is great. He is a great guy. He co-parents, you know, we co-parent amazing together.” In the past as well, Larsa has talked about how their parenting styles are similar as they look to provide their children the best environment without the baggage of their split weighing them down.

The latest update by Sophia and mother Larsa’s reaction suggests the two do find amicable ground to share their the happiness of their children.
