The Akron Hammer received a lot of media attention ahead of his draft process in 2003. Similar is with his son Bronny James right now. However, there’s a big difference between the kind of attention they’re getting. Unlike King James, Bronny has become the most criticized player. The Lakers and other franchises who showed interest in the young James are also obviously in the conversation. Now, the 4x NBA champion’s rival, Paul Pierce, has also added his opinion on the young talent.
Pierce revealed that as James becomes a free agent, the Lakers will try to bring the father-son duo to the team by drafting Bronny. Why? The elder James has always openly expressed his desire to play alongside his son. Pierce also stated that this move would cost the Los Angeles Lakers their championship.
“We gonna see the Lakers maybe not make the playoffs or make the play in and draft Bronny. This is what’s gonna happen. They draft Bronny. Bron gonna play with his son you know that’s gonna be like made for TV,” the Boston Celtics legend said during his appearance in the KG certified Podcast.

He further added, “They gonna have like 70 national televised games. Then that’s going to be the story the narrative and the story line for the Lakers, all year long that we going to follow. That’s going to be it. I think they done. the Championship window is not there.” His co-host and best friend Kevin Garnett Seemed to agree with Pierce

The Truth also suggested that Donovan Mitchell is what the Lakers need right now, who has one year remaining on his current contract with the Cavaliers. This has the teams vying for the point guard, making him a good prospect for the Lakers as they ride toward the nearing end of an era.
Bronny James looks forward to getting into the pro league
Pierce believes that Anthony Davis won’t be able to take up James’ role in the team. And hence Mitchell is the fitting choice who could lead the team while James takes the role of a secondary player. Is Pierce right about his bold prediction or is it just his long-time beef with the Lakers and James talking? We’ll just have to wait and see.

On the other hand, Bronny shared a different opinion. During one of his interviews with the media, Bronny shared that getting into the league is his main focus right now. The 19-year-old had an underwhelming performance at USC which was hindered by a congenital heart defect. This year, he entered the transfer portal while also declaring for the draft.
Many, including veterans of the NBA world, have expressed their advice and crucial criticism that LeBron James’s eldest should have stayed one more year in college. This is probably the reason behind people’s disappointment. While there are rumors that Bronny might join the Lakers, nothing is confirmed yet. It remains to be seen where the former USC Trojans star will be drafted.
