An NBA wife, a mother, a star in her own right and turns out to have immense basketball potential as well. All these aspects and one name, La La Anthony. The 42-year-old has earned herself a comparison with an NBA champ, from the eyes of her son, Kiyan Anthony.
Appearing on a recent podcast episode of Sloane Knows, the 17-year-old was asked which NBA star he would compare La La’s basketball game to. Kiyan tried taking help from his mom, but even she showed more interest in what Kiyan’s opinion was. “She might be like a Jordan Poole… Because she could shoot a little bit… she could dribble. So I’ll say Jordan Poole,” the 17-year-old eventually replied.
Yes, he has faced criticism on multiple occasions. And yes, the netizens made him into meme material on multiple occasions, which he accepted he is aware of. But the matter of fact is the 25-year-old’s stats speak volumes for him.

From an 8.8 points per game average in his rookie season to 20.4 ppg by his 4th season, Poole showed tremendous improvement. Moreover, he even contributed significantly to the Golden State Warriors’ last championship win in 2022 with 17 ppg in the postseason.
This came despite the fact that he started in just 5 of 22 postseason games. And all the criticism aside, there are multiple fans in the corridors of the internet who find Poole to be one entertaining star. Yet another factor that’s absolute to draw parallels between him and La La Anthony. However, this is not the only factor that Kiyan is basing his opinion on.
La La Anthony played basketball in highschool
While we don’t have all the details on her stats, we sure know La La Anthony played as a guard for her high school team. The information first came to light in one of the YouTube videos posted by Overtime. Not only the video featured La La charging with some layups to the basket against her son, but also sinking in a shot.
This was the time that Kiyan revealed his mother played basketball in highschool. “I did. And no one gives me the respect or credit… I was a guard… By the way, he didn’t learn everything from his dad,” La La added to Kiyan’s statement.
