The Barnes Boys are in action! Matt Barnes’ twin boys had once trained with Kobe Bryant. Maybe that is why, both Carter and Isaiah Barnes seem to possess Kobe’s killer instinct. The twins just made their father and the late legend proud as the two notched up a spectacular performance at Section 7 in Arizona. This is one of the biggest boys’ high school basketball tournaments featuring some of the best basketball talents. 

Until the quarterfinals, the two showcased impressive performances. After beating Santa Ana Foothill, the twins combined to drop 39 points to lead Crespi Carmelite to a win over Lincoln (79-76). This is just the beginning of the twins’ dominance. “@zaybarnes30 & @carterbarnes35 were COOKING in a win against Lincoln,” the official Instagram page of the Crespi Carmelite High School wrote.

Their performance might remind one of the time Barnes revealed that it was the Los Angeles Lakers legend who transformed his twins into athletes and inspired them. The father of three had once shared that his twins were interested in only one thing, which was video games. On their 10th birthday, however, Bryant gave them a reality check. 

When the 5x champion asked them which college they wished to attend, both Isaiah and Carter named UCLA. To their shock, Bryant said no. Bryant, who had discovered the boys’ inspiration for video games, told them that if they wanted to go to UCLA for basketball, they would have to work hard for it.

As Barnes recalled, that is when the two began to the game seriously. Neither Barnes nor fans forgot Bryant’s role in inspiring the twins.

One of the followers mentioned how proud Bryant would be of the Barnes kids and wrote, “Kobe is smiling at them boys!@matt_barnes9”

Other fans were amazed and awe-struck to see how much the Barnes Kids have grown up. Praising their performance, one netizen wrote, “Crazy to have seen them grow up to this! Great job bro!!”

One basketball fan recognized the immense potential of these players and predicted that they were going to be quite formidable. “@matt_barnes9 your boys are gonna be a problem!!”

One of the fans also claimed that the two are gonna be great and have a “cold” attitude just like Bryant. “They going to be cold”

“Isaiah and Carter Barnes combine for 39 points, leading Crespi to the victory,” Baller TV tweeted while sharing a clip of their Instagram on X. The twins are now under the guidance of their High School coach Derick Fisher who was also Barnes’ former teammate. Fans might be right about their prediction, it seems.
