“I’m not feeling too much in a congratulatory mood,” Klay Thompson‘s father said about his son’s decision to join the Mavericks. The reason isn’t Thompson’s departure from the Warriors. It is because Thompson chose the Mavericks over the LA Lakers as his next destination. While many are still wondering the motivation behind the 4x Champ’s decision, a former NBA player believes he knows the reason behind Thompson’s decision.
Rashad McCants believes that Thompson didn’t choose the Lakers because of the pressure. The 4x NBA champion is looking for a fresh beginning. Sources close to Thompson said that he did not choose the Lakers because it would be the same as choosing the Warriors. And as per McCants, the organizational issues and pressure that Thompson had back in the Warriors might be the same in the Los Angeles Lakers.
“Klay not going to come out and say it’s bad business with the Warriors…the organization is doing some questionable s*t even with the whole s**t that happened, Klay sitting back like do I really want to come back to some s*t like this which is why he didn’t sign with the Lakers. It’s too much pressure,” McCants said on the Gil’s Arena podcast.

Warriors fans are also upset with the Splash brothers breaking up which is quite understandable. The 5x NBA All-Star has spent 13 years with the Golden State Warriors. And now that he is on his way to the Mavericks, his former teammate had something to say.
Stephen Curry’s message for Klay Thompson
While all the members of the Warriors including Head Coach Steve Kerr are emotional with Thompson leaving the team, everyone wished their best for the 5x NBA All-Star. Amidst all the chaos, Thompson’s former teammate Stephen Curry wrote a simple and heart-touching message.
