Close to three decades ago, a young hooper, Kevin Garnett, made his debut in the league. And a year later, Gregg Popovich took the reins of the Spurs side for the first time as the head coach. Many people might say they grew together in their respective roles. KG last played in the league during the 15-16 season and was part of the league for 21 seasons. During that time, he faced Spurs on a regular basis and came up short 25-31 in the win-loss record. But the respect for Coach Pop is still the highest.
On November 2, right before the Wolves game, the veteran head coach was sidelined indefinitely because of an undisclosed health issue. Later, it was revealed that the reason was a mild stroke. Now Kevin Garnett has taken to social media, “Man, I want to shout out, Gregg Popovich, tell him, man, He’s in our prayers.” Plus, the former NBA Champion also poured his heart out for dear friend Randy Moss.
“Randy Miss, one of my dear friends is in our prayers, man. Y’all keep fighting, man. All our support, man, for real. We with you, you feel me? Real talk from Certified, from P and Kev. Straight up.” When the news about the 47-year-old NFL legend spread on social media, Kevin Garnett responded on X, “🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 my dog.”

You might remember earlier this year, Minnesota’s latest star for the NBA and the NFL recreated a throwback look. In an homage to an iconic image of Kevin Garnett and Randy Moss wearing each other’s jerseys on the cover of Sport Magazine in 2000, this year ESPN recreated the photo and did a feature story with Anthony Edwards and Justin Jefferson.
Fans have been waiting for the moment for some seasons now, and they are glad that they received it. Waiting for the news and being glad about it was also the feeling of Spurs fans and fans in general regarding Coach Pop’s health.

Despite the issue, Gregg Popovich had tasks for the Spurs team
The Spurs coach shared an update about his health to keep everyone at peace. “This has certainly been an unexpected six weeks for my family and me,” Popovich shared. “As we work together on my recovery, I want to take a moment to share that the outpouring of support we’ve received during this time has been truly overwhelming in the best possible way.”
The coach, even during the recovery, made sure to send out a positive message to the entire team. “Don’t worry about me. Focus on the task at hand here in San Antonio. That’s winning and try to compete and when I’m back, I’ll be back. Don’t worry about me.” His message was mainly for the interim coach, Mitch Johnson.
