With both the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns out of contention, NBA buffs are eyeing for a Kevin Durant-Stephen Curry reunion for the next season. Surprisingly, it is not just what the fans want, but a few veterans are also rooting for the cause. Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson shared an interesting trade idea on their podcast to bring KD back in the Warriors jersey. However, it is, perhaps, without the blessing of Klay Thompson.

Barnes asked Jackson, “Does Durant finish out this contract with the Suns?”. The former Warriors star replied, “I’m going to go and start some s***. He[Durant] ain’t got much time left. Man, go on, go back, finish your time out in Golden State bro. I mean s*** it can’t get no worse.” After listening to this idea, Barnes went on to suggest a trade, It’s going to have to be a trade. Sign and trade with Klay [Thompson]? Throw [Andrew] Wiggins in there.

Jackson did not want Thompson to leave. He added, “You can still keep Klay. Wiggins making a hunnid and you can throw somebody else in there. Throw [Kevon] Looney in there man.” Barnes reiterated, Looney, Wiggins, Klay, for KD?“, and Jackson agreed to it. Anyhow, Thompson did not like this trade idea. The Warriors shooting guard commented, “Y’all hilarious, mocking the two former NBA veterans.

Thompson is entering free agency this summer. The Warriors are looking to make some notable changes ahead of the next season. Although Thompson might not like Barnes’s idea, there is a chance that the above could turn into reality.

Bay Area’s sports station, ‘95.7, The Game’, hinted at a possible KD-Warriors reunion through their Twitter today. Host Mark Willard shared“The more people I talk to, I’m telling you this Kevin Durant thing could happen. This is realistic. Before Durant joined the Phoenix Suns, several reports hinted that the Warriors could be one of the landing spots for him. Sadly, that did not happen.

Curry and Durant both had an unsuccessful season this year. KD hinted that he was not a big fan of the offensive rotations by Suns coach Frank Vogel. On the other hand, the Warriors are doing their best to find Curry some help in offense. Considering the above, it’s safe to say that Barnes and Jackson’s trade suggestion could turn into a reality. Curry has also enjoyed his time with KD for three seasons. He said in 2022, “If you said, ‘Oh KD’s coming back, and we’re gonna play with him,’ I had so much fun playing with him those three years, I’d be like, ‘Hell yeah!'”  Let’s wait and watch what is about to happen!
