Bored of hearing the usual analogies and opinions from NBA experts? Kendrick Perkins’s impression by the 46-year-old actor and comedian will surely leave in splits. The fact that Perk himself found it to be hilarious is a testament to this. The artist at work? Kenan Thompson. The sketch came from Thompson on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL), where he imitated the Boston Celtics legend’s voice and used the same analogies Perk uses on a regular basis on ESPN’s First Take.
The discussion on SNL started with Michael Che bringing up Luka Doncic’s trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. While there have been some serious opinions about the development, Thompson’s Kendrick Perkins had a hilarious take on it. “There’s a lot of questions about this here trade, but folks on the inside know Luka Duke is hurt… I’m hearing rumors that he got a small tear in his interior crustaceous uterus. I ain’t no doctor, but by my estimations, I believe he gonna be dead by April,” he hilariously said.
Further, during the show, the fake Perk justified his so-called expert opinion by hilariously calling out Stephen A. Smith. “He [Smith] just got $100 million to go on ESPN every day and talk nothing but nonsense. And I want a piece of that, too. All I gotta say is things like, oh, Larry Bird was created by scientists in the back of a cracker barrel.”

Well, it’s a well-known fact that a certain section of NBA fans has nearly no respect for Smith’s NBA takes. And Thompson did not hesitate to point it out through his blunt humor. Next on target for fake Kendrick Perkins? LeBron James and his longevity.

Bron came up when Michael Che raised a question regarding this season’s MVP.
“You can’t count out the legendary LeBron James, a man who, despite being 55 years old, just won the Tour de France,” Thomson’s Perk said, leaving the audiences into splits. “It’s amazing how LeBron is still able to play every night. He’s 62 years old… LeBron is 71 years old. He has one arm, 12 kids. One of them is black… And he works undercover as a French super spy. The name is LeBron. James LeBron.”
The humor so good that even Kendrick Perkins could not help but laugh out loud. “Not again [ROFL emojis],” he wrote while re-sharing the SNL video on his X account.

However, it was not just Thompson’s jokes that impressed Perk, but also the comedian’s imitation of his frustration. During the show, Thompson was asked about Charles Barkley calling Kendrick Perkins stupid. “Do not get me started on that, Charles Barkley. He makes me so mad,” the fake Perk said while hilariously removing his beard because he was feeling hot.
A hilarious sketch for sure. But it did raise some serious questions, like why exactly did Barkley lash out at the Celtics legend?

Kendrick Perkins’s response to Charles Barkley calling him stupid
The Celtics legend didn’t waste a second clapping back after Charles Barkley took a direct shot at him on Inside the NBA. If you thought their feud had cooled off, think again—Barkley reignited it in a big way during Thursday’s pregame show, and Perkins wasn’t about to let it slide.
Barkley wasn’t happy with ESPN’s coverage, saying they spent too much time talking about the Lakers and Warriors while ignoring teams like the Cavs and Thunder. But instead of keeping it general, he zeroed in on Perkins, calling him a “fool idiot” for claiming the Lakers were saving the NBA. If Barkley was looking to get a reaction, he definitely got one.

“Hey @NBAonTNT might wanna tell that senior citizen Charles Barkley that I’ll be around,” Perkins fired back. “When he see an idiot or fool in person make sure he keep that same energy. He can come playing with me if he want to and imma Address his ass like the numbers on a house. Straight from the 409 homeboy and we bar none and fade all. #TexasBoy.”
This isn’t their first public clash. Perkins once accused Barkley and the Inside the NBA crew of not even watching basketball. Barkley and Shaq responded by calling him a “roach” and punching a bag with his face on it. This long-existing feud makes it even more surprising how Kenan Thompson can take something so serious and create a sketch this hilarious.
