Magic Johnson backing Kamala Harris—Is this the right move for the NBA legend?

The political scenario in the country is flaming hot, and even NBA stars like Magic Johnson are not exempt from the heat. In a debate that drew eyes from around the nation, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump faced off for the first time on Tuesday night, signaling the start of the 2024 presidential race. Hosted by ABC News at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center, the 90-minute exchange was anything but tame.

The two candidates exchanged sharp words on economic policy, past elections, and each other’s leadership styles. Therefore, setting the stage for a contentious campaign season. As per majority reports, Harris seized the spotlight at several moments, challenging Trump on his economic policies, and his stance on key social issues. The Vice President aimed her remarks directly at the middle and working-class citizens. Thus, presenting a vision that she argued would be inclusive and equitable.

Trump, meanwhile, held his ground, defending his past policies and presenting his case for a return to the White House. But the debate didn’t just end on the stage. As the dust settled, members of the NBA community, always known for their vocal stances on social and political issues, were quick to voice their opinions online.
