“Jordan Blood”: Charles Barkley Slapped With Larsa Pippen Tag for Kevin Durant Criticism

Gilbert Arenas didn’t take kindly to the label Charles Barkley stuck on Kevin Durant. In fact, he has his own label for the Phoenix Suns legend – “Larson Pippen.” That’s a play on Larsa Pippen, who is dating Michael Jordan‘s son. That’s Agent Zero’s way of alleging Barkley is a “follower”, just like he claims Durant is.

His cohost on Gil’s Arena said, “You just started calling Charles Barkley ‘Larson Pippen.’” Arenas admitted it. “Because I mean last time we checked I mean, you was following Jordan too,” he referred to Barkley. “You followed Michael Jordan your whole career. You ain’t no different than Larson Pippen trying to get some of that Jordan blood.”

During the 2024 All-Star Game, Charles Barkley stirred some debate when he stated Kevin Durant wasn’t enough to lead the Suns. “He’s got to be a mental leader and a vocal leader to a certain degree. No disrespect to Kevin but Kevin’s a follower, not a leader. He’s proven that on all of his stops,” stated Chuck.

Arenas accused Barkley of being a follower too. Specifically, he was a Michael Jordan follower, according to Agent Zero. “Everything Jordan did Barkley was there… Jordan gamble, Barkley was there. Playing in the playoffs, Jordan want to do something, Barkley was there. Jordan want to go to Vegas, Barkley was there. Golfing? Barkley was there.”

Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley do have shared interests. Before their falling out, they were golf buddies with famous names like Tiger Woods. Both remain notorious gamblers, especially betting on sports. It’s unclear who caught the golf and gambling bugs from whom. Though, Gilbert Arenas clearly has a theory.

Gilbert Arenas has strong opinions about everybody

It’s not uncommon for Arenas to be this defensive about KD. He previously raised a few brows when he claimed Kevin Durant was better than Larry Bird.

At the same time, he’s not that hyped about Larsa Pippen’s relationship with Marcus Jordan. He’s referred to Larsa, who’s 16 years Marcus’ senior, as “grandma” and was celebratory when the couple briefly split up. Arenas said Marcus dodged a bullet by breaking up with her. He’s yet to comment on both of them getting back together though.

Gil’s opinions on Chuck have varied though. He sometimes takes Barkley’s commentary personally. Other times he lauds the Round Mound of Rebound and once claimed Barkley could dominate in the current NBA scene. This time, though, Gilbert Arenas claims Kevin Durant had a better career trajectory than Charles Barkley. Do you agree?
