Is Kiyan Anthony destined to surpass his father Carmelo's legacy in the NBA?

The annual Slam Summer Classic has brought forth many star athletes over its five exceptional events. Rucker Park is iconic for that. Cooper Flagg’s clutch performance in the fifth annual event received recognition from basketball pundits and analysts. Now taking over the sixth is Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony alongside one of the best and No. 1 ranked juniors.

Anthony and Jerzy Robinson teamed up in the Slam Summer Classic Volume 6 to claim victory in the 2v2 tournament. Robinson, who attends Sierra Canyon, is the FIBA Under-17 Women’s World Cup MVP and the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 class. “Kiyan Anthony teamed up with Jerzy Robinson, the #1 ranked junior in the country and won the SSCV6 2v2 tournament!” the announcement read.

Well, she also had a stellar teammate. Kiyan was named the No.1 prospect in the 2025 class of New York last month. More recently, beyond the court, the 17-year-old also took home the NBA 2K title. The official Instagram page of Slam shared a clip of Kiyan holding the championship belt with the caption, “@kiyananthony takes the dub in the @nba2k Tourneyyy.

From sunglasses to jerseys, Kiyan flaunted his event gear on his Instagram Story, captioning it, “You already know.” Also, before signing off, he made sure to flaunt his impressive dunk shared by madehoops.

Looks like Kiyan has carried a little of what the Paris Olympics with his father had to offer.

Is Kiyan Anthony destined to surpass his father Carmelo's legacy in the NBA?

Have an interesting take?

Anthony had a blast singing karaoke and enjoying Katana training during his summer trip to Japan with his mother, La La Anthony. He then made his way to Paris just in time to join his father for the Olympics. The 17-year-old was spotted sitting courtside with the New York Knicks legend to watch the Team USA games. But it wasn’t just to cheer that the duo made it to the arena.

“I am pointing these things out on the court before they are happening, as they are happening. So he’s hearing the game… totally different from someone else watching the game,” Carmelo Anthony explained of the experience Kiyan had in Paris with him as a personal commentator. Melo also pointed out the insights and the strategies used by players and coaches on court, helping the 17-year-old get a better view of the game.

Back on the court, dominating now, Kiyan sure is treading well with a little help on the side. Miikka Muurinen, Miikka Muurinen, Calen Wilson, and Chris Cenac were a few others to take the court at the event and Kiyan ensured to make his presence known.
