Have you ever wondered what would happen if two pro basketball players and their sons teamed up in a 2 vs 2? Well, Carmelo Anthony recently entwined in a playful debate, surrounding the scene, ignited by his son. It all started when Kiyan Anthony thought that Lebron James and his son Bronny James would have the upper hand if they went up against them. Anthony and his son exchanged some playful banter on the topic on social media. In a lighthearted interview, Jayson Tatum found himself a part of the row.
In a conversation on the 7PM in Brooklyn show, co-host Kid Mero brings up the moment that started the debate. Earlier, on Twitter, Kiyan Anthony gave his predictions of the result of a hypothetical match between the Anthonys’ and the James.’ “I think Bron and Bronny will win, to be honest, just because Bron is still in the league, he’s still doing what he’s doing, you know. I don’t know, but it will be a close game. I feel it will be like 11-8, 11-7,” claimed Anthony Jr. Obviously, his father didn’t agree with him. “I’m going to remember this @Kiyananthony,” Melo had posted on X.
Jayson Tatum, who was observing the conversation now as Kid Mero and Anthony spoke of Kiyan’s post, chimed in with a subtle remark. “I thought he was like trolling. He don’t really think that. He knows he thinks they win,” said Tatum. Although, Mello’s worst nightmare would be Antony Jr., thinking that his father ain’t got it. The Anthony-duo share a great bond, built on mutual respect. “He keeps me alive, he keeps me lighthearted,” Melo adds, not dwelling much on the instance.

When Tatum questioned the outcomes of a game involving 17-year-old Mello, and today’s Kiyan, the proud father stated that Kiyan would emerge on the top.
Carmelo Anthony stated that his son is in the developmental stage, and he is making sure that he is in the right mindset. “He’s got a different mentality, and it’s starting to show. You should be able to look at me and say, ‘Okay, that’s the pinnacle of the game.’ If he thinks he can beat that, then he’s ready,” said Anthony. Kiyan once said that his father is aggressive when it comes to training, and he exposed himself to the real NBA, as he would be following his father’s footsteps soon.
