If you missed Jamal Crawford on your screens, the wait is over and even the legends can’t hold their excitement.

As confirmed by Crawford himself through an Instagram post, the 3x Sixth Man of the Year will be joining $143.19 Billion Comcast’s NBC Sports as a lead analyst. The network will begin its NBA coverage in October 2025 across NBC and Peacock. Cheering on the news shared by JC were multiple names from the NBA community.

Jamal Crawford once recognized Baron Davis’ amazingness, stating playing against him felt like being guarded by five people. This time, it was Davis celebrating Crawford’s “Amazingness” as he wrote the word in his IG story, sharing the announcement post by Jamal Crawford and Boardroom.

Matt Barnes, meanwhile, congratulated JC with an Eddie Murphy reference. “S/o my brotha Axel Foley aka Fam aka @jamalcrawford,” he wrote, along with a heart and prayer emoji. Yep, the same Axel Foley from Beverly Hills Cop played by Murphy. For those unaware, Crawford is a big-time fan of the 63-year-old star. “I love Eddie Murphy,” he said in a conversation with Nate Robinson on The Players’ Tribune.

Speaking of Nate Robinson, the former New York Knicks star also extended a silent cheer for his former teammate and close friend Jamal Crawford. He shared the announcement post to his IG story but without any caption.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Jamal Crawford's 'amazingness' off the court match his legendary moves on it?

Have an interesting take?

Having played together on the Knicks and sharing common roots with Seattle, the two players share a close bond. So much so that, JC was among the first ones to call out for help when Robinson’s need for a kidney transplant emerged. “We have to get our brother a kidney ASAP,” he wrote on X with a prayer emoji.

No wonder Robinson is cheering for Crawford’s off-the-court success. Yet another NBA legend supporting the 3x Sixth Man of the Year was Jalen Rose. “And will still Crossover anybody…” Rose commented on the announcement post by JC and Boardroom, affirming Jamal will be as good in his new role as he was on the court with his signature crossover move.

Jamal Crawford’s reaction to the new journey he’s about to embark upon

Crawford is among the only 10 players to have played 20 seasons in the league. Apart from this, he, along with Lou Williams, holds the record for 3 Sixth Man of the Year awards. It’s clear JC has enough experience, knowledge, and skills in the game to provide that unique take as a lead analyst.

And let’s not forget—this isn’t his first time behind the mic. Since retiring in 2022, Crawford has been building his broadcasting career, first with Turner Sports and NBA TV. And more recently, as a key part of MSG Network’s coverage of the New York Knicks.

It’s no surprise he’s “thrilled to join the NBC Sports.” As Crawford shared, “I grew up reenacting the game highlights that I watched on the network’s classic NBA coverage, so I’m truly honored to be a part of the new broadcast team that will bring the game to a different generation of fans.”

And it’s just wholesome to see other greats like Barnes and Robinson from the NBA community share the same excitement as Jamal Crawford for his upcoming stint.
