The skill gap between NBA players and everyday humans is unimaginably high. Whether you look at open runs or international games, there is a stark difference. Especially, in a 1v1 scenario where there is no safety valve. In such a scenario, challenging a certified scorer like Jamal Crawford is nothing short of foolish, as the 43-year-old himself pointed out.

The man who had the entirety of X singing his praises just a few days ago wasn’t taking the disrespect. Instead, in a no-nonsense response, Crawford shut down any hopes that one bold rapper had.

Jamal Crawford isn’t taking any disrespect

A 3-time Sixth Man of the Year, Jamal was no slouch in the NBA. While his handles are genuinely in the GOAT discussion, his shooting, too, was mercurial. So, challenging a “professional scorer” would seem like an obvious oversight.

Unfortunately, Gillie da Kid did not get the memo. In a disrespectful rant, he loudmouth rapper claimed that the former Phoenix Suns guard couldn’t deal with him in a 1v1. “I bet you Jamal Crawford will not accept this challenge one-on-one…I’ll cook the s**t out of him.”

However, Jamal wasn’t in the mood to tolerate such comments. He took to X with a scorching reply. “Aye @gilliedakid, they slipped you something real serious huh? I don’t bother nobody, now you want ‘Jamal Wick Crawford’ to play 1’s with?! This will be worst than what the Hitman did to Martin. It’s on.”

With “Jamal Wick Crawford” taking exception to the disrespect, the hypothetical 1-on-1 could be a genuine massacre. If it does eventually take place, then the NBA fanbase could be in for a genuine treat.

After all, Jamal remains a super fan-favorite around the league.

The fans are backing Jamal Crawford’s bid

Despite the NBA fandom usually not agreeing in the majority, Crawford is the kind of crowd favorite to bind everyone together. That is why his claim of averaging over 20 points per game in today’s league was met with unanimous approval.

Due to the offense-oriented nature of today’s game, and the additional spacing, one could make a solid case validating the dribbling maestro’s claim. So, to imagine him losing in a 1v1 to a random rapper is almost unfathomable.
