It wasn’t Michael Jordan! There are many stories about the Chicago Bulls legend’s habit of gambling. These are interesting mostly because of how competitive Jordan was. One of the most iconic of them was the three-point shooting contest that saw Jordan reportedly win Jamal Crawford’s luxurious Mercedes-Benz. For years, people believed that the duo entered a betting game in which Crawford lost his car. However, it turns out that none of it is true. Well, to be precise, half of it is true. The 44-year-old lost his Benz but the one receiving the car wasn’t Jordan.
In a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast, the retired NBA player was asked about the alleged wager which both never clarified. In response, Crawford decided to share the truth with the listeners. Surprisingly, Crawford lost his car in a dice game. He lost all his cash and to get the money back, he decided to go for some side betting which didn’t work out.
“I’m trying to get my 5000 back from that particular person. So I’m betting with the opposition he’s hitting. So when he hits him he’s hitting me too if I’m going to continue to bet,” Crawford explained. He reshared the clip posted by former NFL player Ryan Clark on his X handle, writing, “Finally the @Realclark25 brought the TRUE story to the table once and for all!”

Ultimately, he realized that he must stop as he kept losing. So as a last resort, he decided to give up on his car which was the best decision at that time. “I rather give you my car than go to the bank and get $100,000,” he concluded.

As per the fake story, both the Chicago Bulls legend and Crawford entered a shooting contest and placed money on the bet. Quite a creative story that had Jordan win the first round which was worth $1000 and the second one which was worth $5000 was won by Jamal.
Following this, the two decided to place their cars on the bet. While Jordan placed his Ferrari, it was Benz by Crawford. Well, even if it isn’t Jordan, Crawford did end up losing his precious Benz. Quite a big loss irrespective of who it came against.
