The New York Knicks have been phenomenal at the Madison Square Garden in the playoffs this year. This would be the perfect chance for the true basketball buffs to experience a live game at the Mecca of basketball. So former Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins, who has been endorsing Jalen Brunson and the Knicks all playoffs turned up at the MSG. The 2008 champion decided to break a year-old pattern to fulfill his desire, along with a celebrity.

It’s safe to say Jalen Brunson’s no.1 fan this year is Kendrick Perkins. The ex-Celtics veteran believes Brunson is the best point guard in the league at the moment. Perkins even gave him the nickname Big Body” Brunson, to appreciate the physicality he showcases.

It’s been several years since Perkins made an appearance at the MSG. The last time he was at the Garden was probably during his NBA career. He returned only for one man, which is obviously Jalen Brunson. Perkins wrote on X, Haven’t been in the Garden since Moby Dick was a goldfish…. But damn it the Governor is in the Building tonight!!! Carry the hell on…”

Just as Perkins wished, Brunson put on a show for him. The 27-year-old dropped 44 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. Most importantly, the Knicks demolished the Indiana Pacers 121-91, which was the highlight of the day. Perkins was not alone in watching this show. He was joined by a famous comedian and an actor from Hollywood.

Kendrick Perkins enjoys the show with 55-year-old comedian

Perkins, who wore a New York cap, was seated with American comedian Tracy Morgan in the courtside. The Celtics icon shared on X, Watching Big Body Brunson and Knicks in the flesh with the big brother  @TracyMorgan…oh btw feet on wood. Morgan stood on business today. The 55-year-old not only cheered the Knicks from the sideline but also gave a reply to the doubters. The doubter mentioned here is Golden State Warriors center Draymond Green, who termed the Knicks’ postseason run as a fluke.

“It’ll be probably another 15 years of misery and we’ll all sit around and laugh at Knicks fans with their delusion,” Green had said in his recent podcast episode referencing the Portland Trail Blazers’ 2018-19 run. So when he joined Inside the NBA today with the Knicks leading the series 3-2, he heard a few words from Morgan.

The comedian warned Green, Let me tell you something Draymond, I love you like a fat kid loves cake, but don’t talk crap about my team. This is New York City kid. Green was left speechless with Morgan’s words. Perkins and Morgan went on to celebrate the win at the MSG later as their team inches closer to the Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.
