There is a celebration going on in the New York Knicks camp. The most iconic duo for the franchise, working together for a quarter of a century, is being honored by their family. Mike Breen and Walt Clyde Frazier have been the voice of the franchise for 25 years, and they’re receiving all the love there is to get.

Adding another layer to the celebration of these two icons, two stars of the franchise, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, reached out to the veterans with a heartfelt tribute. While Frazier and Breen were reminiscing on their journey, Brunson and Hart interrupted the legend to give them their jerseys as memorabilia to mark the occasion.

Brunson said to Breen, “Sorry to interrupt you; I just wanted to say congratulations on 25 years, guys,” while giving him his Knicks jersey. As the two were leaving the 2x NBA champion had a special request for the Knicks duo. Frazier said, “Come away with a victory tonight.” Frazier’s request shouldn’t be an issue for the Knicks as they’re currently sitting at the 4th position in the East with a record of 32-18.

Walt Frazier and Mike Breen reflect on their friendship

It all started on February 5, 1999, on the MSG Networks for the first time. While these two have upheld the values of the Knicks as an organization, they’ve also entertained and informed fans for generations now. Talking about his partner, Breen said, “They just showed us a clip of it. I look like I’m 11, and this son of a [gun] looks the same now as he did back then”. For Frazier, the experience was a little different because he was coming into it when he already was a legend for the Knicks, having won two championships with the team.

He said, “When you’re a professional player, you know there’s a limit. Sooner or later guys retire, 12 years, 14 years if you’re lucky. It was something new for me, I was enjoying it and then working with Mike, and liking to work with Mike, I never thought about the time sequence of it”. Although 25 years might seem a lot when we talk about it, for this duo, time has simply flown by, and a quarter of a century doesn’t sound like a lot for them.
