The NBA on TNT have already started their Christmas rituals and one of them involves Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith’s hilarious moment from last year. 2-time champion Smith’s famous shove on Shaq to the Christmas tree was marked as one of the best moments of TNT last year. Well, looks like the two are back at it again, but with a small twist. 

The Los Angeles Lakers legend had an opportunity to show his acting skills this time. It’s been nearly 27 years since we saw Shaq enact his most iconic performance. During the halftime of last night’s game between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics, Kenny Smith and Shaq decided to recreate the shove, but in slow-motion this time

Shaq and Smith walked slowly as the latter shoved the 4-time champion. The 7-footer who took a fall to the Christmas tree, shared, “I’ve come a long way since Kazaam.Shaq had featured in a film named, ‘Kazaam’, which was released way back in 1996.

The plot revolves around a genie, played by the illustrious Big Aristotle, who is trapped for 1000 years. The genie named Kazaam, helps a troubled child as they pursue a musical career. 27 years later now, Shaq dusted off his acting hat. This time, for a 1-year-old tradition. But how did it get started?

Why did Kenny Smith shove Shaquille O’Neal into the Christmas tree?

During the half time of all the games, either of Shaq, Barkley and Smith explain some important plays and crucial moments of the game using the big screen. Usually, the three Hall of Famers take chances. But after a point, it became a race. The first to touch the big screen first, gets to explain the match details. Well, Kenny Smith wanted to take control of the big screen real bad and thus decided to shove Shaq. Smith has used tricks on Charles Barkley too.

Smith who predicted that Barkley would race to the big board, decided to place a small hindrance behind the 76ers legend. Although Barkley did not trip on it, it was good enough for Smith to take a lead. However, Shaq reached the big screen first before the Barkley and Smith. Well, that might be the reason why Smith decided to use his physicality.
