When will Shaq learn that 7 feet of greatness can’t slip under the radar? From his NBA legacy, to his music, movies, commercials, and general social media fame, Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most recognizable personalities in the world. Yet he tries to go unnoticed on the streets as if he isn’t dwarfing most of us. He was in London recently, for work, fun, and keeping up with Team USA. And he thought, let’s blend in. He shared the results of his latest social experiment on Tiktok and it’s since gone viral across platforms.

An EDM show brought him to London while Team USA was playing in the pre-Olympics exhibition there. O’Neal also went to the launch party of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s Gin & Juice party in West London. LeBron James was there too before the game while Shaq hosted. At the party, O’Neal wore his signature Bug Bunny printed trousers, black tee, and futuristic loafers with his own backboard-breaking silhouette on it from his affordable footwear brand. Completing the look is the custom DIESEL chain he’s usually wearing at his EDM shows.

He’s wearing the same outfit in his most recent TikTok. He starts off the clip in a wildlife documentary-style stating, “In London. Let’s see if they recognize me. Time to put on my disguise.” The disguise is blackout sunglasses which he wore at Snoop’s party too. The Superman moniker has got to his head because he thinks he’s got Clark Kent syndrome. He says, “Hope nobody recognizes me.” He missed the fact that the Shaq Diesel necklace is a blinged out billboard on his chest.

He lasted 45 seconds – his best record really – because it was a relatively empty street. The first human he passed by instantly reacted. Similar to that talking bunny on his pants, Shaq does darn it fist swing before greeting his fans.

He mutters, “Damn it, they know me in London,” as if he isn’t besties with David Beckham and hanging out with celebrities there. On TikTok he made excuses, “Almost ahd it…its cuz i forgot the wig.” Your hairline isn’t the problem Shaq.

Shaq’s fans won’t let him get by

Shaq’s usual lack of awareness about his larger than life presence tickled fans. He didn’t go undetected in public but social media humored him with wrong answers. Either they said, “You blend right in,” or some pointed out it’s the Shrek on NBA on TNT in comments like, “It’s Shrek! TNT.” That was a Charles Barkley’s nickname for him when O’Neal was new on the show.

What’s your perspective on:

Shaq as Shrek—Is this the funniest comparison yet, or do you have a better one?

Have an interesting take?

As said before, it was Shaq’s best record. He tried to go unnoticed in Beyond Wonderland but lasted for 10 seconds before a guy turned himself into a meme yelling, “Oh s**t it’s Shaq!” This time someone gently reminded him, “If you weren’t as tall as the apartment building next to you you’d be blending in.”

It became relatable for fellow giants who said, “

There is no incognito for tall people. I’m 6’2″ …. no incognito for this girl.” Also they couldn’t ignore that incognito doesn’t go with a “With a big SHAQ necklace,” or having a camera crew filming him. He has the subtlety of Johnny English in a clunky armor but fans said he needs to work on his disguise.

But the real problem his fans remind him is that it would be criminal to not recognize the

Big Aristotle. “if they don’t know who you are they are not paying much attention,” or living under a rock. There’s no disguising Shaq.
