Bill Simmons asked Barkley about his opinion on what he thought the UFC was doing better than boxing. This led to Barkley saying, ?It?s just so stupid?. But what made Barkley say this?
Barkley and Bill Simmons were talking about how the best fighters in boxing rarely go up against each other much. Barkley added that the boxing world didn?t get some of the best matches it could have in the past 10 years. And, this is because boxers in their prime refused to face each other so that they could keep their undefeated record intact.
Barkley gave his props to the UFC because they don?t have this issue. In the UFC, the best fighters go up against each other every chance they get, and this provides the best matches for the fans.
Barkley has said that the best legends in boxing are those who have faced defeat in their prime and could then overcome the defeat and get their revenge. Barkley, being a boxing fan, always wants to see the best matches in boxing, like he did last week.
