Although both Isiah Thomas and Eddie Johnson came into the NBA in 1991, Johnson was never as successful as Thomas on the basketball court. But things took a different turn following their retirement from the NBA. Although both of them have tried their hands out in broadcasting and sports analysis, Eddie Johnson has had a far superior career in the media world.

Eddie Johnson was recently given the honor of winning his third Emmy award, and Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas was one of the first to congratulate the 1989 Sixth Man of the Year.

Eddie Johnson wrote on Twitter, “Just picked up my 3rd Emmy and it feels so good! 🙂. Tune into @SiriusXMNBA NBA Today show 4-7pm ET to hear from the only Emmy Award winner 🤷🏾!” Johnson also added a few images to it in which he is sitting in front of the three Emmy awards that he has won.

Isiah Thomas was happy to see his peer get the recognition that he deserved. Thomas shared this post and wrote, “Congratulations @Jumpshot8“. To this, Johnson replied, “TY Zeke.

Having been an analyst on countless shows, Thomas knows the work that goes into achieving such accomplishments in the entertainment world. Thus, Thomas was quick to congratulate Eddie.

Having shared the stage both on and off the court on multiple occasions, the two have built up a good relationship over the years. But Thomas might have a good impression of Johnson, as he once helped Thomas bring down his arch-rival.

Everyone knows the history between Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan. So it came as no surprise when Thomas joined Johnson to reignite the GOAT debate. Although most people have Jordan as the greatest player ever, Eddie Johnson once brought out another suitable candidate.

Eddie Johnson once posted a stat chart comparing the numbers between Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan on social media. After seeing this, Isiah Thomas shared Eddie’s post for the people to see that Kareem’s numbers are far superior to Jordan’s.

But Jordan had played five fewer seasons in the NBA than Kareem; thus, these numbers are not entirely meaningful, yet Thomas found them to be enough to be shared with his fans. Although Thomas and Johnson have not had any impactful interactions in recent years, the two seem to be good with each other.
