But what goes on behind all the shimmer of news reporters and cameras is a much more funnier scene.  When a player walks into an NBA locker room, they usually expect to catch up with their teammates, talk strategy, or maybe even witness a little postgame banter. But for Isaiah Thomas, his latest trip to the Denver Nuggets locker room turned into something straight out of comedy folklore. Instead of a normal scene, the former NBA star was treated to something very comical by his teammate Nikola Jokic. 

The Nuggets’ resident prankster was at it again, and this time his target wasn’t a teammate or a coach, it was the young Jaiden, who had no idea what he was walking into. Jokic, spotting an opportunity to create locker room history, decided to commit an act so funny it left the locker room in stitches.

Isaiah Thomas, recounting the incident, took to social media and posted a story on Instagram showing the hilarious moment where his son Jaiden was seen wrapped in towels, resembling a mummy, barely able to move in a ridiculous but hilarious predicament. He captioned it, “When I played for the nuggets lol I came in the locker room and Jokic did this to @jaiden_thomas253 😂”  

Jaiden Thomas may have been the latest unsuspecting victim, but he took it all in stride, laughing along with the rest of the team as he wiggled his way out of the towel trap. As for Isaiah, his reaction was priceless, somewhere between shock and the realization that this is just the kind of madness that follows Jokic wherever he goes. If you are familiar with Jokic, this was just another day in the office for him. The two-time MVP may dominate on the court, but in the locker room, he is just as well-known for his pranks as he is for his passing.

Throughout the years in the NBA, Jokic has built a legendary reputation for pulling off some of the most unheard-of and ridiculous antics in the NBA. Whether it is sneaking up on his teammates during their interviews to drench them in cold water or moving their personal belongings in order to watch them search in confusion, the Serbian superstar loves to keep things light and funny.

One of the most hilarious incidents was during the Nuggets’ 2023 championship parade. Jokic trolled an entire city when he jokingly complained about having to stay for the celebration instead of flying to Serbia. “I need to go home,” he deadpanned to the reporters before he later admitted that he was actually enjoying himself.

Nikola Jokic also has another funny habit of pranking his teammates by stealing their phones and sending out absolutely hilarious and ridiculous messages, just because he can. At the end of the day, no one is safe when Jokic is in the mood to mess around.
