“She’s obviously not an NBA star,” Trinity Rodman said about her mother while raising her to the pedestal as her role model. An ‘extremely strong woman ‘ is how the soccer star describes her mother. The Worm’s athletic genes were passed down to his children as well. Both Trinity and her brother are athletically gifted, while Trinity makes waves in soccer, DJ Rodman is following in his father’s footsteps. Now, she even boasts a gold medal which is missing in her father’s stellar resume.
At just 18, Trinity was drafted as the second overall pick in the National Women’s Soccer League. Trinity is also the youngest player to score on debut in the league.
“He was an amazing athlete, and I got those genes from him, but I’m excited to be known as Trinity Rodman and not just as Rodman’s daughter. I’m excited to pave my own path and get better throughout this journey,” Rodman said.
Just last year, she represented the U.S. Women’s National Team for the first time in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t advance past the Round of 16, losing to Sweden in an early exit from the tournament. However, this defeat did not dampen the fans’ spirits. While she promised to give her best, the fans have also shown their support to her.
The loud cheers in the arena and the emotional fans patiently waiting to shake hands with the soccer star show how Trinity is inspiring young girls. Her journey has been about building her own identity, and she might be on her way to surpassing her father’s legacy in her own right.

Currently, the young Rodman is hitting her stride. Rodman and the Spirit also clinched a win in their first match after the Olympics against Kansas City. One constant in her life has been her family and the competitiveness that has driven her to where she is today. Speaking of her famous father, Rodman said she always aspired to excel in soccer as much as her father did in basketball. But, as for inspiration, it was always her mother.
“Having a dad like I do, no one asks about my mom because she’s obviously not an NBA star, but I just want people to know that my mom’s been my support system in everything in life and she’s my best friend and my rock,” Rodman said. Trinity and her brother were raised by their single mother, Michelle Moyer. The siblings are also close to their stepsister, Teyana Lima.
Trinity Rodman’s relationship with Dennis Rodman
Despite having an NBA legend as their father, both Trinity and her brother didn’t have Rodman around them as much as they needed him. Rodman was a star the moment he stepped onto the basketball court. As many assume, his fame wasn’t just due to his eccentric antics. The 6-foot-7 rebound king was exceptionally skilled and undeniably one of the best. He won two NBA championships with the Detroit Pistons. And then, with the Chicago Bulls, he secured three more championship titles.
However, his life wasn’t easy either. Talking about the struggles Rodman had in his life, Trinity once admitted that she understood him. “He goes through so much and through his career, he’s had a very hard time. It’s weird being a daughter saying that about a dad. You’d think it would be the opposite way, but I think I have an understanding of kind of what he’s been going through,” Trinity said.
In an interview, the Chicago Bulls legend also expressed his regrets about not being a present father for his kids. Even though he admitted to having done the best he could, he regrets his actions. In his Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony, the 5x NBA champion expressed his one regret of not being a better father. “And I just wish, anyone says ‘you have any regrets in your career being a basketball player?’ I say I have one regret, I wish I was a better father,” Rodman said.
