There are a few things that one can look forward to ahead of the Western Conference Finals match-up between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. It has been 22 years since the above teams faced each other in the playoffs. At the same time, it has been 20 years since Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley came to Minnesota. “Bring ya a**, said an excited Anthony Edwards after Barkley revealed the above news. However, there is a good chance that Barkley has visited Minneapolis quite recently. Let’s take a look.

Anthony Edwards‘ hilarious reply to Barkley has made quite the noise on social media. While many are surprised by Barkley’s revelation, a fan of X did some research to find out if it was true. Guess what? It was not. Either Barkley has a bad memory, or he is just lying. Remember the 2019 Final Four of the NCAA?

We all know that Barkley is a loyal fan of the Auburn Tigers. Ever since he finished college there, he has been supporting Auburn when it comes to the NCAA. In 2019, the Tigers made it to the Final Four, where they faced the Virginia Cavaliers in Minneapolis, Minnesota. And guess who was there? Charles Barkley!

A fan wrote on X, “I know Charles Barkley said he hadn’t been to Minnesota in 20 years, but he was definitely there in 2019 for Auburn’s Final Four run lol“, with a picture of the 1993 MVP standing next to the court at Minnesota.

One can say that Barkley was just forgetful. However, let’s come to a conclusion after we see Barkley’s locker room talk to the Auburn men.

Did Barkley forget his locker room motivation for the Auburn Tigers before the Final Four?

The Tigers had the best shot at the NCAA title in 2019. It was the Final Four, so Barkley decided to give the young bloods some motivation ahead of the game. Sitting in the locker room, the Hall of Famer shared, My number’s retired at Auburn, my number’s retired in Philadelphia, my number’s retired with the Phoenix Suns. But I never won a championship. I have to live with that forever. You guys gotta chance to do that.”

Great words from a wise man, who just forgot the location of where he was. Right after this, Barkley made a live attendance to the game. Disappointingly, the Tigers lost by one point, 63-62, after Kyle Guy from the Cavaliers hit three free throws to take the lead. Quite surprising that Barkley forgot all of thisisn’t it? Anyhow, let’s just change the words now. It has been only five years since Barkley made it to Minnesota.
