Carlos Boozer’s love for basketball started early, growing up in a busy household with four siblings. That passion took him to Duke University, where he helped the team win an NCAA title in 2001. With his impressive offensive skills, Boozer went on to shine in the NBA, playing for four teams and becoming a household name. But while his professional success is well-known, what about his personal life? Is the former Chicago Bulls star married?
Boozer has been married twice, but neither relationship lasted. His first marriage was to Ce Ce Boozer in 2003, and they were together until 2015. During their time as a couple, they welcomed their first child, Carmani, in 2006. What should have been a joyful time for the family came with devastating news: before Carmani was even born, doctors diagnosed him with sickle cell disease, a painful inherited condition that affects nearly 100,000 people in the U.S.
“When we found out, it felt like our whole universe was crumbling,” Boozer said in an emotional interview with The Tribune. “Everything should be about bliss—you’re having a baby, everyone’s happy—and then you find out your child has sickle cell. It made us doubt everything, even ourselves.”

Determined to find a way to help their son, Carlos and Ce Ce decided to try IVF. They wanted to ensure their future children wouldn’t inherit the disease and hoped to use the process to help Carmani. In July 2007, they welcomed twin sons, Cameron and Cayden. The stem cells from one of the twins’ umbilical cords were used in a bone marrow transplant for Carmani—a risky procedure but one that ultimately worked. Carmani pulled through like a champ, showing incredible strength for someone so young.

Now, both twins are following the same path as their father. Cameron is set to be the top recruit of the 2025 recruiting class. However, Carlos and Ce Ce separated in 2015. Later, the basketball player got married again.
