It’s pretty common for people to assume things about someone based on how they look. Especially when you are tall. Even after the rise of shorter players taking over the league in recent years, Dwight Howard can’t escape this one stereotype. Basketball is a sport where it is a given that tall players have an advantage. So the stereotype of assuming a tall person knows how to hoop has been around for decades.
The question that the Orlando Magic legend, who is a 6’10 giant, can never seem to escape from is people asking him if he plays basketball.

Dwight Howard calls out this tall people stereotype
Following his 18-year career in the NBA, the?former champion with the Los Angeles Lakers took his talents to Taiwan. He played for the Taoyuan Leopards. But this hasn’t stopped Dwight from getting asked by people who don’t know him if he plays basketball.
In Taiwan, where the average male height is 5’8, people are often shocked to see this 6’10 center towering over the rest of the people.

Dwight Howard shared on Instagram a post calling out the stereotype of people towards tall people. He captioned the post with half in English and the other half in Chinese.

As you could probably tell, during his time there, Dwight has become close to the people and even took the time to learn their language.
Dwight wanted people to know that he could do many things other than basketball. He shared a few of his talents in the caption, and he then asked the fans to leave a message if he was not just a basketball player.
The fans replied to Howard’s request
People were not ready to accept Dwight’s plea, as they kept trolling him in the comments.
Famous singer Swae Lee, with 11.2 million subscribers, could just laugh at the post by sharing laughing emojis.
Another just pointed out the obvious, “you do though.“

Only this fan was quick to agree with Dwight and said, “Dwight Howard=Infinite Possibilities” nodding to the fact that Dwight has many other talents besides basketball.
Another fan was adamant that he will never stop asking this to tall people. “Now if somebody 7ft or over I?m asking if they play ion care.“
Likely a Magic fan hyped Dwight up by saying, “Being tall ain?t what made u one of the best oat.“

Finally, one fan decided to accept Dwight’s plea and said, “Alright I’ll ask if you play volleyball instead.“
