This preseason has provided some exciting glimpses of what to expect in the upcoming NBA season. After observing the performance of the Oklahoma City Thunder star, Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett was confident that the league’s future is in capable hands. He even went so far as to draw a comparison between the 25-year-old player and a music legend.

Kevin Garnett thinks Shai would have won the MVP last year
Last year Shai put up MVP-level stats, and in a typical season, he might have won the Michael Jordan Trophy. However, with many players averaging 30+ points, Shai couldn’t make it.?
Garnett also has the same opinion. Taking to his Twitter, he wrote, “Those are MVP type numbers in a normal year that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is puttin’ up in OKC.” He added, “and it?s high IQ and? efficient than a mf! These young guys are gonna do the league right. We good?”
