As soon as Mavericks coach Jason Kidd compared Luka Dončić to Michael Jordan, he opened the floor for debate. The topic was contentious enough to leave the TNT Tuesday panel divided. While Jamal Crawford dismissed the argument thoroughly, Shaquille O’Neal seemed a bit more flexible. However, having always held Jordan in high regard, Shaq feels Dončić still has a long way to go.

As for himself, he’s going to keep out of it. “I’m not in that argument. I believe that,O’Neal humbly said after the crew played highlights of MJ’s game versus those of his opponents, including a rookie Shaq. This was after Jamal Crawford, being the instigator that he is, repeatedly proclaimed Jordan to be incomparable.

Crawford listed people who could come after His Airness, including O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bill Russell. When Candace Parker asked The Big Aristotle what he thought about that list, O’Neal was quick to discount himself from the league.

Maybe the production team was out to prove Shaq right. Because in that MJ highlight reel, they showed the Black Cat scoring off Shaq’s turnover. That moment made Crawford playfully taunt the big man,Come on, Shaq, that’s you out there.” He rubbed it in further too, “That’s you, Shaq! That’s you,” while the crew laughed and applauded.

J Crossover was determined to make his point that Michael Jordan is incomparable. And while both he and Shaq agree that there are close seconds, the entire discussion seemed to agitate the new Tuesday analyst.

Shaquille O’Neal’s co-host hates this conversation

Jason Kidd made a pitch to include Doncic in the same atmosphere as Jordan after his 73-point night – which is the fourth highest single-game record between Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant. That didn’t sit well with most, including Crawford.

The 3x Sixth Man of the Year stated, “I’m kind of tired of people throwing around Michael Jordan’s name. Like what are we doing? We’re talking about Michael Jordan?… He’s the best ever… He’s too big to be compared to.” Shaq also admitted that it’s too early for Doncic to be in that league unless he’s consistently this good.

Mavs head coach Jason Kidd also claimed that Doncic has surpassed franchise star, Dirk Nowitzki, who is one of Crawford’s favorite opponents to go up against. J Crossover couldn’t even swallow that comparison. He is only willing to put greats with a consistent body of work in the same league with MJ. He ribbed Shaq about getting repeatedly beat by Michael Jordan but he also counted him in the same league. Even if the Big Aristotle is too humble to accept it.
