The Chuck hierarchy of beef starts with San Antonio at the bottom and goes up to anyone at ESPN like Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins, Shaquille O’Neal, and at the top, Papi Le Batard. Shaq’s prime feud target has always been Charles Barkley. And when Dana White was on his show, he fixed a one-sided match to take down his frenemy a notch. His opponent is oblivious that he’s booked for a fight and is instead on Dan Le Batard’s show, sending a challenge to the host’s dad via him.
In response to Dan and Stugotz complaining that Barkley has not been on their show for a while, Chuck said he loves the sportscaster and his mom, but off the cuff said, “know I want to punch your dad in the head.” That may not be a joke. Barkley is ready to utilize his UFC connection to make his desire come true. He further added, via the LeBatardShow, “I’m trying to get Dana White to do a MMA fight between me and your dad.”
Now would be the perfect moment to cue the awkward laughing from Dan. But, Sir Charles is dead serious that he wants to brawl with Gonzalo Le Batard. The TNT analyst is close to that family since he was an NBA player. He hangs out with them and talks grandkids with Dan’s mother, Lourdes. But, Chuck doesn’t want a plain ol’ meetup at the Le Batard residence. “I want America to see me beat his a**, I want the whole wide world to see me kicking his a**,” Barkley said about Dan’s 80-year-old father.

Despite growing up watching his ESPN analyst dad and spending a long career in sports media himself, Dan had to ask Chuck if there was any pay-per-view appeal for Chuck vs Papi. But, is he really surprised?
This feud goes back at least eight years. Back then, Kevin Durant invited Chuck to the Warriors locker room to settle his beef with Draymond Green with words or fists. Sir Charles, who’s had his fair share of on-court brawls, pretended he didn’t hear. So, Papi Le Batard called him “chicken.” If the show fits. But, Barkley left a voicemail on Le Batard’s Highly Questionable show threatening, “You better stop calling me a chicken on television or I’m gonna come punch you in your face.”
Anyone can see Barkley thinks a Le Batard or two is an easy kill because he’s ignoring the tougher challengers.
Charles Barkley’s already booked
Last month, Dana White was on The Big Podcast before Barkley had called off retirement. Yet Shaquille O’Neal took the chance to settle a few beefs. “Charles Barkley, you against me on September 19th…I will slap the heck out of you.” The Barkley camp is yet to respond.
White is more on board with this idea than Chuck vs Papi. He said, “I love it, I’m in.” He was ready to do this much earlier. On Inside the NBA, Barkley talked smack that he’d drop Shaq like a “sack of potatoes,” in a slap fight. At that time, White declared he’d schedule the Power Slap tournament during the Super Bowl weekend.
