Vernon Maxwell is certainly not the one to be challenged. The basketball legend, nicknamed “Mad Max,” was known for his fierce playing style and well he has always been quite intense. This is the man who was crucial in leading the Houston Rockets to 2 NBA championships. He is the same veteran who stood up to fight back after getting slapped by none other than The Dream. That is who is. And despite his famous reputation, an NBA player from the same fraternity as Maxwell ended up challenging him. And that too in a big way.

There were quite a few viral, one-sided conversations in the past. Now that the former Houston Rockets legend is at his wits’ end, he has even decided to make a compromise with the ex-NBA player. That’s right Mad Max would be glad if he got even half of what he owes.

During his recent appearance on the All the Smoke podcast, Maxwell was asked about the incident where his not-so-gentle request to get back his owed money from former NBA player Vincent Askew went viral. Initially, the 2x NBA champ had no plans to ask for his money back. However, he later changed his mind and decided to demand it. It was no less than $10,000, a significant amount and Maxwell had every right to ask for it. Speaking to Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, the basketball legend detailed the entire ordeal of asking for his money back.

“I need that that $10,000…That m———– called me on his knees…That m———– just highway robbed me. That m———– then changed the number. They were supposed to get my money transferred over to the bank. He said he changed the number,” Maxwell detailed.

In the end, he even decided to negotiate, suggesting he would be fine with just $5,000. “Don’t do that. Where you at? Where you at, my n—–? I’m looking at all the cameras. I’ll take five now.” Mad Max said as he hilariously looked from one camera to another in hopes of having a face-to-face with the ex-NBA player.  Just last year, the topic sparked a major conversation.

Vernon Maxwell’s viral video addressed fellow former NBA players

Back in December, Maxwell, who earned nearly $13.1 million from his NBA career, didn’t mince his words while calling out the former NBA player. Taking to social media, he addressed other NBA players who are acquainted with Askew. After informing them about the money he is owed, Maxwell went on to add that the rest should watch out for the 2× CBA Most Valuable Player. “I want all my NBA brothers to know one thing about this one n—-, that’s in our fraternity. He a sucka a– n—-.”

The former Houston Rockets player further added, “He ain’t s—. If this n—- call you and ask you for any type of money, this n—- is lying. … The n—-‘s name is Vincent Askew. Do not give that n—- f—— dime. … This n—- owe me $10,000.”

That particular video went viral across social media. While some responded hilariously, others were shocked. Well, things have changed now. Considering Maxwell’s slight tussle with The Dream, it does hint that he might not be angry anymore.  All Maxwell wants is for Askew to pay him at least half of the money back!
