Several NBA veterans have taken the role of NBA analyst over the years. There are three veterans Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith who have set the bar high with their work on Inside the NBA. Dwyane Wade also joined the NBA on TNT after retirement but soon decided to do his own thing.
Since then, Wade has made some incredible investments in other sports franchises, collaborated with some of the biggest brands globally, received an Oscar nomination, and recently started his own podcast.
Wade’s podcast The Why with Dwyane Wade was recently launched and the first few episodes have been well-received by his fans. After another successful project, the 3x NBA champion is on cloud 9. He recently talked to BET where he explained what led to him creating his own podcast. Wade said, “I miss my voice being heard on certain topics because I’m very opinionated. I love to talk and not just about the game of basketball. I love to talk about people and about what I learned from them as well.” Wade said that he wants to make this into a learning experience for his listeners as he brings in some of the most accomplished people in the world as guests.

“Creating “The Why” podcast is an opportunity for listeners to come in and learn something from other people’s experiences. Listeners we’ll get to hear other people’s experiences from their walk of life. They’ll get to hear some of the things they’ve been through and you never know what nugget someone will say that hit what someone is dealing with in real life”, he added.

Dwyane Wade’s podcast is off to a flying start
Wade kicked off his podcast in style by inviting his fellow 2023 class of Hall of Famers Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzki, and Pau Gasol. The four gentlemen were at war with one another when they were active players in the league. But when they sat down for the conversation, there was nothing but love and admiration for one another and their achievements.
Wade said, “I thought it was a great conversation and it was a moment where you saw some of the game’s greats just be fans of each other and be regular people.” Some of the other guests for The Why are Carmelo Anthony, Rick Ross, and Pat Riley. Seems like D Wade is lining up All-Stars for his podcast lineup as well.
