Jennifer Hudson got back to the set of her talk show to share a rundown of her past weekend. It included some big thanks to Big Diesel. Starting from having the magnanimous personality of Shaquille O’Neal on her show to supporting his philanthropic pursuits a day later, she gushed to her audience about the heartwarming side of the gentle giant. The 4x NBA champion made his mom the star of the show which moved Jennifer Hudson too.

From the sounds of it, J-Hud had the time of her life supporting a good cause. Shaq’s relationship with his mom stood out to her most.

This week, Jennifer Hudson was back on her eponymous talk show after a busy weekend. It started with her hosting Shaquille O’Neal on her show on the past Friday. On Saturday, October 7, it was Shaq playing host to her in Las Vegas.

Jennifer Hudson was one of the headliners of the Los Angeles Lakers star’s annual fundraiser, The Event. She had a lot to say about the time she enjoyed there.

The Event supports the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation’s work with the Boys and Girls Club. It’s a cause close to the songstress too.

“Anytime the kids are involved I love to be a part of it, you know, ’cause I even got to sing at a talent show back at the Boys and Girls Club in Chicago when I was a kid,” she told her studio audience.

However, it was Lucille O’Neal who got everyone’s attention at the gala. “This event was all about his mama and I love a mama’s boy,” Hudson said bout Shaq. The ‘mama’s boy’ donated $20,000 to have his mother sit on the stage at MGM Grand. She had the best view in the house to watch Miss J-Hud perform.

The EGOT icon described her view of the O’Neals in a hilarious way. “Y’all it was a table right here on the side of the stage and there go Shaq, then they go Mama Shaq, and some of Mama Shaq’s friends I guess.” She rolled with it too, entertaining Lucille and her gang through her performance.

That would not be the only highlight of The Event. Hudson had a lot more to share about performing at O’Neal’s gala.

Hudson apparently enjoyed meeting not just “Shaq and Mama Shaq” but the other performers as well.

She was hyped about Anderson .Paak deejaying the event. She skipped the part when Shaq crashed Paak’s performance to sing and off-key duet and when Paak dance with Lucille.

Draped in a feathered emerald green number, Hudson’s style statement was a scene-stealer. What also got everyone’s attention was seeing her and Flava Flav in one picture. She was also honored to meet fellow EGOT legend, John Legend himself.
